Last full day (August 27)
THe 'big doings'this morning will be at MGM and we are moving to PO. I decide to get coffee at Beaches and Cream since I packed the coffee. I know I am losing my mind when I spend $2.50 on a Mickey head shaped doughnut! There are CM'm cleaning the pool wearing snorkeling gear when I go back to the room. Even though Dan was awake when I left, no one has moved. I remind them this is the last day and they moan and groan. We all want to stay longer but cant because Nick has his orientation for high school (my baby!) on Wednesday so we need to be home and I do miss the dog. Dan gets up and starts thinking of all the food that he likes there that he hasnt had, something from the Fountainview in EPCOT, a frozen banana, a fruit bar, a hotdog (ooops, he doesnt eat meat anymore, he hopes they have soy dogs). This is enough to motivate him to get up. We are at MGM around 9:30 and make our way for fastpasses for RNR and TOT. We have a little wait so we go and do Star Tours again. Dan gets a frozen fruit bar. We go back and he and I go on TOT, he likes it alot. we are sure Nick would like it but when we come out Nick is eating some chicken fingers and fries and isnt interested. "Next trip" he says, I tell him there wont be a next trip, remember? He and Dan laugh. Dan gets some fries. We then go and do Backstage Tour which we like better with the Pearl Harbour theme although it is kind of like one big commercial for the movie. Dan gets ice cream when we get off.Goofy is there and I get a cute picture with the boys and Goofy. He jokes around with them for a minute or so which I appreciate because no one pays much attention to teen- agers. We head towards Millonaire and just miss a show starting. Dan wants to eat at the
Commisssary so we stop there. He gets the fish and chips and chocolate pie again. We pass by Cruella de Ville and I want to take a picture with them and her but they tell me thats 'embarassing'. OK. We go back to Star Tours and Nick buys a shirt. Dan wants to go to DTD and its actually about 2 now and we have pretty much finished what we wanted to do at MGM. At the entrance there is a monkey with long arms, we dont know his name but they want me to take their picture with it, so I do. OK- Cruella is 'embarassing'but this nameless
monkey with the long arms is not? I dont get it but I dont ask. At the bus stop area, Dan thinks the quickest way to get to DTD is to switch at the TTC, I think it would be faster to go to PO and get a bus there. I agree to go to TTC in order not to start any 'debates'. We are on the bus for a long time it seems to me and the bus isnt very cool. When we get to the TTC, Dan looks at me and tells me he doesnt care if I go back to the hotel. I look at Nick and tell him he can go with Dan. Nick says he feels kind of sick and would like to go to the hotel.
We go to PO, our room is ready and I ask the nice CM if we could be in building 4 or 5, even though its only one night. She gives us room 5134 which faces the courtyard but you can see the water. It is very close to the pool. When we walk in to the lobby, Nick is all smiles. He finds it amazing that everything is the same year after year. The same music, smells etc. We walk through the food court and Nick likes the familiar way it smells. The resort looks great, it is clean, well taken care of, our room is very clean and doesnt show any signs of wear. The rug could use a cleaning but it isnt bad. I am just a nut about dirty rugs.
We wait for Dan and both feel bad that we didnt go with him. We walk to the food court and Nick gets some gumbo. He is trying to make sure he doesnt eat any thing that isnt chicken and is finding that hard. He enjoys the gumbo anyway. I fill my old PO cup with pop, a woman asks me if thats 'legal'. I tell her I think so and that as a return customer, I think its fine. She looks at me like I am a thief. I look around and NO ONE else has these old cups. We go to sit in the lobby to wait for Dan who shows up in a few minutes. He is 'good to go' to EPCOT since he had a snack (!) and slept on the bus. He makes a comment how PO always is the same and he is glad we are tere.
At EPCOT we go on Spaceship Earth, then stop at the Fountainview and Dan gets a chocolate mousse with cookie crust, one of his favorites. Then we go to Honey I Shrunk the Audience
and then get fast passes for the Land. Dan is hungry again so we stop at Sunshine Seasons. We have one voucher left. Dan wants food form one section but a dessert from another and the nice CM helps him do this. He eats a veggie wrap, a cup of soup some chips a drink and strawberry shortcake. Nick isnt feeling too great and isnt hungry. We go on the Land, the fast pass time was too late when we checked for TestTrack so we walk over just to see if the line is shorter, it isnt. We are dissapointed because we never got the timing right for this ride this trip. The plan is to stay for Illuminations but Dan has shopping and a few more snacks he wants to get. Nick looks pooped. We decide we dont want to stay and Dan is fine with this, he wants to go buy a shirt at Japan and look a couple other places and then he will come back. We admire the lights as we walk to the bus.
Once Dan gets back we go for a swim, the slide is closed and there are no towels, its not even 10 yet. I go to the room and get the towels and call housekeeping to bring more to the room. They swim for an hour or so and we stop in the food court for a snack. I see a few more people with the old cups. Dan wanted red beans and rice, but it isnt on the late night menu. Nothing sounds that great to him so he gets an order of bread sticks and beignets. He wants to take a bus to the Boardwalk and get food there. I dont think so! Off to sleep around midnight.

Thanks for sharing here. I was laughing reading all the food that was consumed.. Really part of WDW is the food... and they got their fair share.

I may have left out a few snacks, he was really hungry that day. I think he must have adjusted to the heat at that point!

wow! thats a lot of food - teenagers can really eat that much huh?

I really think there are a few snacks and drinks that I left out, not to mention that he finishes everyone elses food too. And he's a stringbean!!!

Bo's Mom, yes. my third boy! A six year old neuterd male. WW

:) You don't find many people who own them. I have a 9 year old neutered male named Bailey. He is a truly wonderful dog. My family has finally got used to his "Wheaten Welcome" when they come to the door..the only dog I know who can jump straight up. :)

Hey, mine is Bailey too!!!! He had a tough time at the kennel this year and kissed me all the way home. Has your Bailey benn healthy? Mine has had some kidney problemsbut is ok now and that Wheaaten greetin is unique!

He's been really healthy except for some dental problems. In the past year, he has lost quite a few teeth. He has this silly grin that is hysterical. The groomer we go to, can't believe he's 9 years old, because he still acts like a puppy. But she doesn't seem him at home. He sleeps most of the day. :) We don't usually get the Wheaten cut, because most of the groomers in this area are unfamiliar with it. He tends to look like a schnauzer after he gets groomed, but we are always being told he is cutest dog going. He really has a beautiful face. :)

Very funny!!! i enjoyed just reading all of the snack food he consumed!!! I'm sure Disney was happy he ate his way around the parks!!!! ;)
