Why do you pay $100 a year to store a few items? We get 2 free checked bags every flight, and we usually travel with 5 or more people so 10+ bags. Sorry but I just don't get it.
We fly SWA, so get 2 free checked bags each (2 people).
Yes, we probably could pack out 2 more large suitcases to carry everything, but that also requires us to lug those additional suitcases, PLUS our carry-ons. There's also the very real possibility of luggage getting lost, and/or something breaking or leaking - airline personnel tend to not treat luggage very nicely :sad1:
Personally, we don't keep clothes in ours. Ours has: Brita pitcher, sound machine, hot/cold pad, microwavable/storage containers, funnel, zip-locks, health (moleskin, first aid, thermometer, pain relivers, sunscreen, insect spray, aloe, Q-tips, etc), beauty (face wash, make-up remover, good soap, men/women deodorants, razors, moisturizer, dental floss, etc), hair products (the "good stuff"), Rusk hairdryer (theirs are horrible), flatiron, coffee/filters/scoop, sweeteners, vodka :), bathroom spray/poo-pourri, condiments, cooling towels & fans, card games, post-its, scissors/tape, sewing kit, eyeglass repair kit, phone chargers, laundry pods, wrinkle release, collapsible water bottles, and yes, toothbrushes & toothpaste
We also bring a collapsible bag with us, which enables us to buy more (putting breakables in the hard-sided luggage & clothes in duffle) - while very convenient & easy to carry (slips over handle on suitcase), I wouldn't expect much other than clothes to survive in it as a checked bag.
Those who go for only a few days at a time may not see the value. We go for about 2 weeks at a time, & find having an Owner's Locker invaluable, whether we have a car or not.

I just came back home from my first trip using my owner’s locker & my favorite item ended up being something I didn’t expect- dōTERRA hand wash (I really hate soap bars!!). My second (& third) favorite items were the two *big* reasons we decided to give OL a try: an espresso machine & a water filter. It was heaven, I tell you!☕

We also have small stainless travel mugs, a real bowl & spoon, a paring knife with flexible cutting board, a few spices, chip clips, ziplock baggies (asstd sizes), loads of toiletries & grooming items, a small dr’s kit (inc blister bandaids, moleskin, electrolytes, sun stick, supplements, & meds), flip flops, cooling towel, my favorite magicband, plus a fan & cupholder for Bessie (my motorized chair)... my locker is already full!!

Anything that had any smell at all (esp toiletries), I packed in “smelly proof” bags to make sure my box doesn’t end up with any sort of “funk” to it. I also put in a charcoal bag... just in case. (I had a Rubbermaid box full of toiletries in storage in FL several years ago & I ended up throwing everything out bc it stunk 😬🤢)

Since this was my first time using it- that means I had to fill it- I’m excited to see how it feels in Dec to travel without all of it! Yay!! 😀

Looks like the “moderate” plan includes one delivery per year. How much do they charge for additional deliveries?

I am for sure adding liquid hand soap next time! I forgot to add it to my grocery order when we were there a few weeks ago.

Thank you for bumping this!!! i just checked to make sure i had ours set up for Tuesday, & yes, it was done.......but going to the WRONG resort!!!! We usually stay at the BWVs, our OL's name refers to the BWVs, so i automatically entered BWV as destination; we're actually going for our first stay at Riviera. That would've been a headache, so THANKS!!

I have an unopened bottle of wine. Can that be put in my locker??.
TIA:wave:
I would suggest putting liquor/wine in a travel wine protector (protects the glass, seals in case of leaks/breakage), or wrap in a protective cushion & leak-proof bag.

I keep looking at a locker. We go twice a year. So far, we can pack the few items we would want on our trip. Whether renting a car or using a shuttle service, we stop at a grocery store and pick up what ever else we need for that trip. So far, that has been less than the cost of a locker. Waiting for when that changes.

We thought about it for years too, until I started following this thread. We decided to take advantage of the DVC discount to try it out, and so far we like it. We’re on our way home from our second trip, and having the locker is saving us from hauling an extra suitcase in and out of hotels on our drive. Next trip we plan to fly, and having toiletries in the locker means I don’t even have to pack them. Also, we stay in offsite condos too, and in the locker we keep things like a shower caddy, scissors, and kitchen tools that they don’t always have, not to mention all those little things that I as the mommy used to have to haul around “just in case” like bandaids and OTC meds.

I hear you. That’s where I was the past few years. I didn’t need an owner’s locker to pack what I needed, so it seemed like a waste. My first “light bulb” moment was when I read about someone keeping their fav coffee machine in it.... bc I really miss my morning espressos while in Disney! So with multiple trips planned, I decided to give the DVC deal with OL (owner’s locker) a try.

I have a ton in it. Being able to take my first trip with just needing to pack my clothes was even better than I thought it would be. It was fabulous!! But I mostly loved waking up every morning to a cup of Nespresso right in my room (no getting dressed or waiting in line necessary!) ☕

Here’s the way I look at it- if something can add a lot of value (not financial- but greatness) to my Disney trips, then it’s worth it (if the financial side makes sense too 😉). With the sweet first year offer- the only real question is: Would having an OL make my trip more... magical?? ✨

For me, the answer is: 1000 times, yes!! 😍😁🤩

You're not helping. I'm looking for more reasons not to do it.:)
I suspect once we know we are returning ( we missed both trips this year), I suspect we will go that route as well.

I don't have a locker and don't go enough to have one sadly, but I was really interested in what you all store anyway.
