So I've been thinking about what gives me a sense of value or worth and I have come to the conclusion for me......it's people.....it's the lives you touch and the difference you make in your family, your friends, your co-workers, anyone you come into contact with and have the opportunity to impact for better. Like back earlier in the year when our cub scout pack had our blue & gold banquet and surprised me by presenting me (and DH who was our cub master but away with the guard - I had pretty much stepped in and filled his shoes along with leading my den) with a gift basket but what was better than that was being surrounded by 30 boys 1st-5th graders (and a few sisters who participate with us) all trying to hug me at once and saying "we love you Ms. Cristy". It's a hug from an after school care child who can try your patience to no end. It's your own kids when you feel like you've not been the best you could, they seem to know when to just snuggle up to you and say, "mom, I love you!"
My worth doesn't rely on how much money I have in the bank or how much I make......it's in the lives I touch.
So how about you, what's your worth?
