What's your typical DVC usage...how many trips per year?

Been members for 5 years. The first 3 we went once a year - year 4 we did not go at all. This year we are going twice - we had banked points and we did an add on. But, we will still most likely only go once a year - it is just now we have a cushion so that we can stay a day or two longer or go during a time that uses more points if we need to.

I only bought enough points for a 1 BR EOY (170) but have so far managed to visit WDW/DLR every year since we purchased. With the AP special, we have 14 days in WDW in 2013 with 11 days of that using our DVC points.

We already have our 2014 trip scheduled, but not using our DVC points.

After that, we would start needing 2 BRs, and it will be worse. Without adding on, I might either have to use for really short trips in low seasons. Our week long trips would either be from our other TS or banked/borrowed points.

We've been members for 21 years. In the beginning, we did an occasional exchange w/ the Concierge Collection, for other WDW resorts, and DCL During the last ten years, we've only used our points for DVC resorts. We usually make three 7-night trips. We will occasionally make a few 3-4 night trips as well. We tend to be careful about when we travel and most frequently stay at OKW.

:) Members since 2009. We alternate years taking my parents and MIL. So one trip with them and one trip alone 7-8 nights in May and Oct/Nov. We only stay DVC and we almost always stay at AKV because DH is a DVC purist and only likes his home resort. We stayed one night at BLT this past Halloween and DH couldn't wait to get "home".

We use APs and TIW and get at least two trips out of them. This year we will get three. Purchased them Oct 31 and used them for a 8 night trip, May will be a 7 night and we have another Oct trip planned which will end on 11/1. So I feel like we got our money's worth.

We are starting to stagger our stays. In 2012 we went in Feb for 10 nights then again over NYE for 10 nights. We have not been back since but we are going for 8 nights in Feb, 7 nights in Oct and 8 nights over NYE. We are using 2013, 2014 and borrowing 2015 points for the various trips we will not go again until 2016.

We have been members for 17 years, and we probably average 2-3 trips a year. We love OKW, so point totals are often low. We tend to buy APs and take 3 DVC trips in the course of that year. Then we take about 12 months off before buying a new AP and starting the process over again.

We typically go May and December. Last year we skipped May and went to Aulani in February - heavenly, F&W in October and December. This year we'll be doing F&G in May, F&W in October and our December trip.

Like others, we frequently gift points to our kids. This year they invited us to join them for their 5th Anniversary trip in October - who can resist?

Our trips range from 9 to 14 nights, most always in a 1 bedroom.

With the special price DVC AP, we'll get 4 trips out of our current pass and combine that with TIW.

We just joined last year. We previously had been to DL or WDW every other year. We knew we would be going frequently as our children are heading into awesome ages for WDW. We also both love Disney. We never dreamed that it would mean we could swing 3 trips to WDW in one year! I'm so happy!!:)

(Won't be able to do that every year, but it's awesome this year!!). We will probably will continue to go at least 1 x a year ... More when we buy more points :)

most in 1 year 4
average 2 trips per year usually F&G in epcot and week after thanksgiving.

This year no F&G we are going in late August :scared1:

I will have enough points for December just not sure if i will have the $$$

three or four trips are usually what I average. Usually one or two of those trips my friend uses her points so I am lucky.

What we started doing a few years back was:

-1 trip to DVC beach place in even years (about 4 nights with another place added on...1st was HHI for 4 nights with OKW added on for 3 nights w/out WDW parks and just Seaworld....then we did VB for 4 nights with 2 added on at Universal Hard Rock to see HP world)...this summer we are just doing 5 nights at HHI

-2-3 short trips to WDW using AP/PAP in odd years (about 12-14 nights total)

Did 1BR from 2006 until Dec 2011, which is when we started doing 2BR (also added on points then and 2 more times since).

Now the kids are all in HS and their schedules are tough...plus they are getting tired of WDW and do a lot of complaining while there. We think they might do the same at HHI this summer. So, we are re-thinking our use of DVC...we even listed our 200 OKW points for about a month (just pulled them off since not a single bite). I think now we will follow through with this HHI trip and then in August 2015 we will take the DDs for one last WDW trip and do just one big one (8 nights) with a night at Universal at the beginning. We want to do a split stay at WDW so we can get deluxe DP for the 1st part. DS will have graduated and be on his way to college that month, so I don't think he'll be going on that trip. After 2015...I don't know what we'll do. DH and I went for the last F&W (for 3 nights) and really enjoyed it, so maybe we'll start to do that, yearly, in 2016.

They don't enjoy HHI as much? They don't like the beach, etc?

They do like the beach. They, however, did complain at VB...about being bored and having to be with the family. Though VB is a bit more isolated with not much to do for teens...it's more for little kids, so they may be better at HHI...we'll see. And DS can drive now...so maybe he'll take his sisters and go do things they want to do...w/out ol' mom and dad hanging around.

I'd say we average 2 DVC trips / year on points but sometimes that changes. We had 1 yr a few yrs ago where we went 3x but then we had a yr where we skipped it altogether bcuz we did a DCL Med / Europe trip instead. THIS year we just had a long weekend last week and are then planning to go to VGC/DL and Aulani in August…so I guess technically this would be a 2 trip year but with 3 destinations. Not sure yet what 2015 will hold for us…possibly 1 extended trip as DS will start college that fall so our trips may change.

We go twice a year. F & W and F & G for a total of 17 nights a year.

Just one trip a year at only DVC resorts. This year will be spring break at WDW and fall break at HHI. We had to cancel trips the past two years so we are making up for it this year.

We only have 150 pts and with the cost of tickets and airfare rising dramatically we will be alternately years, one at WDW, the next at HHI.

We normally average two but are squeezing in three this year. DCL for spring break, BLT in May, and Aulani in August. This is an unusual year though--getting ready for DD to go off to college so cramming in what we can. I'm sure we will take fewer trips when we have one in high school and one in college--too hard to plan around school schedules and sports!
