I don't understand the 30 day clock. Does the 30 day clock start and stop for each trip (so a 4 day trip plus a 5 day trip plus a 6 day trip = 15 days of Memory Maker photos), or is it one single 30 day clock that starts on the first day of your chosen trip and runs for the next 30 days, even though your trip may only last 6 days?

You get one 30-day download window during the year. You have to active Memory Maker when you go to download your first photo and that's when the 30-day window begin.

So we have 2 trips planned next year with start dates that are 2 months apart, one from March 4-7 and one from May 9-16. Is it possible to capture both trips on the MMB memory maker or will I need to choose?

Each photo will stay in your account for 45 days after being taken. The 30 days for downloading them doesn’t start until you download one. Sometimes if trips are close enough together you can wait to start downloading from the first trip until the 30 days overlaps the second, but given your dates, I don’t think it will work in your case. Sorry.

An alternative would be, given two trips, it might be cost effective to buy an AP. For $99 you can add the PhotoPass entitlement to it, and it will cover all photos taken while the AP is in effect. You can do the arithmetic adding the cost of park tickets you’d buy for the two trips and compare to the cost of the AP to decide whether it would be worth it.
