Hi all!
I've just started lurking around on the board here. There's so much to know!
As background: My husband and I have been having discussions for the past year about our upcoming vacation and me wanting to go to Scotland. I've pretty much memorized the map of Scotland, the trains and planes to and from Scotland, the last known siting of Nessie (j/K), castles, music fests, midges, etc. Let's get some haggis, I'm ready. As chief planner and organizer, it's important that I've got the details down.
So I'm minding my own business online and start talking about the Adventures by Disney new dates being released, and the DH comes over and starts reading over my shoulder and says that London/Paris one sounds like fun. We should do that. And I say, um, you know that Scotland is really no where near London, right? And, as I understand it, they pretty much speak English in England so I'm not sure we need a guided tour. But he's excited by the whole thing. And as he usually leaves all the home stuff to me, I think this is the first opinion he's expressed about our vacations plans pretty much ever in these ten years so I've decided to go his way on it. I wish I could put all my Scotland knowledge from my brian on to a USB memory stick for later use though!
Now, if he gets to pick London/Paris, I get to pick the Disneyland Paris add on! Fair's fair after all. That's where I need help! There's just so much. It just seems like SO much! I've got WDW memorized, but for some reason my mind has just been blown by all the info.
What's really not helping is there's no good book that I can find here for me to look through and brain storm. (because, you know, they encourage us to stay home here LOL) I don't know if DLP has the channel on the TV that's nonstop with info on the parks. Here they have this very perky, ever so slightly annoying (probably because I'm not five) but I'm sure she's very nice, girl Stacy that runs through the must sees at WDW.
It got me to thinking that we only have a day when it's all said and done at DLP, so what would be the top five things to really get a flavor of it. Not even rides, but what are the top five things that you do that make you say, aaaahhh, now this is my Disney Magic home.
Like for me my Top 5 things that make my trip to the World complete:
1: Walking down Main Street to the castle and then going over to the Rose Garden to see if they've planted anything new.
2: Big Thunder and Splash Mts are next
3: Dole Whip, YYYUUUMMM, and over to Philharmagic
4: A little bit of poking around in the shops waiting for:
5: Spectro/Wishes. Perfect end to a perfect day.
I was thinking if some folks would tell me their DLP Top 5, maybe it would help narrow down my focus a little. I know we can't do it all, but I would like to find the magic as much as I can. Is there really a dragon in the castle??
That sounds so cool! LOL
Thanks!!
