What's your standby "wait time limit"?

There is no hard rule for me. It depends on what else I am planning to do or available, if I have gotten the change to ride before, etc. I start to recoil a little at over 45 minutes, but I may still do it depending on the other factors.

20 to 30 minutes in my max, 30 minutes is kinda pushing it :P (I have 2 kids under age 3 so I try to find sorter lines and I have an AP so we can come back if the line is too long)
Kriss :tink:

It really depends. I prefer not to wait more than 20 minutes, but we’ll wait longer for Peter Pan (with a snack) or a handful of other rides, depending on the situation. If we’re with infrequent guests, we’ll cater to them since we go so much.

Funny and slightly relevant story: my daughter has been on Star Tours dozens of times, but we’ve only ever used FP or gone if it’s a walk-on. So on Saturday night, we’re there with friends who decide to jump in a 40-minute standby wait in the evening, so we’re in the little room off to the side that’s part of the regular queue. My daughter: “What IS THIS PLACE? But where does it go? Why are we in here? DO ALL THE LINES HAVE ROOMS I DON’T KNOW ABOUT?!”

For me it depends if the ride has Fastpass or not. If it does, then the standby line moves very slowly with a lot of not moving at all. Standing in one place hurts by joints. So... Fastpass available: 15 minutes. No Fastpass available: 45 minutes.

Standby wait times are all relative. On a normal day about 20 minutes is my limit for most attractions. However if it is busy like it has been this week then there may not be much of a choice if every attraction has 30 minute standby times. Usually though if I know I am going to be in the parks late we will do whatever fast passes we can get and then stuff like the Mark Twain and Tom Sawyer’s Island in the afternoon when it is really crowded and hit more attractions later in the evening when the crowd has died down some.

Up to 30 min usually, occasionally 45 min or longer depending on circumstances, like extra busy days.

It really depends on the ride, tbh. We'll wait up to 45 minutes for something that's a favorite, but that's not the norm for us.

The worse line we ever waited in at any Disney park was for Soarin' @ CA once, which was OVER AN HOUR (maybe closer to an hour and a half) and that queue is brutal, imo. My head almost popped off last year when we went straight to Soarin' at EPCOT first thing and WALKED ON. We fast passed Soarin' on our last trip, which is really the only way to do it at CA, imo.

I will wait max 30 min. but depending on the ride, who i am with, how many days, what time of day, i will wait more.

Depends on who I'm with. The larger the group, the more we can talk, which makes line time enjoyable. With a fun group it only starts to feel too long around 40 minutes. If I'm by myself, I don't want to wait more than 5 minutes.

Also, how deep into the trip we are also affects how long the wait feels. Morning of the first day? 30 minutes is no problem. End of the last day and we're all worn out? 30 minutes feels interminable.

Our limit is 20-30 minutes. No more than 20 usually and up to 30 if its a favourite we really want to ride. With smart planning and use of fastpasses we have never not ridden everything and our favourites lots!!!

My only visit as a teen (no memory of my truly first visit at 7), I had my cousin's toddler with us. He was tall enough to go on Roger Rabbit, but just barely. I could see the line, and it looked short--I mean, there was maybe 15 people in line. I should note here that the ride before was Dumbo, so ZERO hiding *that* line... You see where this is going right? The sign said "60 minutes from this spot" and no one was there, and I was sure I could see the people all there in line (switchbacks! I had no idea).... Yeah, that line was 45 minutes long. Had no idea about the "secret" inner mazes they make that aren't visible!

Haha. Sometimes you never know! I've seen the line for Jungle Cruise all the way back to the tiki room... and yet the sign says 10 minute wait. I thought, "there's no way that's possible" but was with someone who wanted to go so we got in line. Sure enough, 10 minutes later we were on.

That probably means there was a sudden surge of people in line and there was no switchbacks opened up, so the monetarily stopped the line so they could open up a couple switchbacks. Once they opened the line again, it just moved super fast.

Yes, I think that's exactly what happened because we basically walked thru the downstairs and the whole upstairs (which was actually fun because I rarely see it) and then back downstairs to get on a boat.

Late November we waited 90 minutes for Slinky Dog since I wasn’t able to snag a FP as I thought I would be able to. This was our longest wait ever.
