I would love to hear about (and/or see pictures of) your head to toe "look" in the parks. After all, it can almost make or break the experience! And I'm guessing that through trial and error you guys have come up with the most comfy shoes, most practical bag, clothes that can withstand the long hot days, etc. I know I want to tweak mine for next time - both in comfort and in style! :goodvibes So right now I'm on the lookout for new stuff and would love some advice!

top to bottom

Tilley Hat (simply the best there is, google it)

FROGG TOGGS bandana

100% Cotton T shirt / Polo shirt

Fanny Pack (I don't care, I'm on Vacation)

Cargo Shorts

Broken in New Balance shoes

Bag wise, I use a small messenger bag. Most people suggest something smaller (such as a purse) but I think that the messenger bag zips and closes, isn't too large so I don't get tired carrying it and on the big rides like Tower of Terror, it's easy to wrap the long strap around my foot.
As for clothes, well I guess it depends on when we go. My goal is not to look fasionable, but to feel comfortable. I never wear a dress, I just don't like to when I know i'll be going on rides. Usually it's a T-shirt, and a pair of shorts with a large pocket that closes (for my key to the world and fastpasses). Since I go in Deember usually, there is some chilly weather involved. So I wear jeans, but old worn in ones so that i'm still comforatable, and maybe a light hoodie if it gets to that point.
Footwear is something I know I'm stupid about. I wear converse, which if you've never worn them you wouldn't know that they have literally no support. My feet hurt at the end of the day. But I only have one pair of shoes, and I never thought it was a good idea to buy sneakers I would wear only when I was at Disney once a year. But, I don't recommend it!

I understand I want to be comfortable, however I still want to look "cute" for pictures! :cutie: At least for a few days... I love to frame vacation pics and hang them up in the house. From head to toe...

- large sunglasses (also used as headband)
- short sleeved shirt (usually Disney prints hehehe)
- long sleeved shirt (how warm it is depends on temperatures)
- Nike walking shoes (or crocs if going to Animal Kingdom... I love Kali)

As for bags... I love, love, love my ebag (http://www.ebags.com/product/ebags/piazza-day-bag/94553?lastterm=piazza). It is small, and closes with a magnet! So easy to access my camera or fastpasses! However, some days we go without bags.

I love Converse too but they are really flat!! I got shoe insoles (I think I just got the heal support) for my converses and they work great. I wear mine to work everyday and don't have nearly the problems that I used to have. Will be bringing mine to Disney this Christmas.

This is our first time in the parks at Christmas . . we have gone twice during the summer and I like gauchos. I ordered them on Target.com and they were inexpensive and comfortable!!! They were lightweight for the heat and I wore them with a cute tank top and they looked cute. A must have for our summer trips are our camelbaks for water!! We filled them in the room in the morning with ice and bottled water and did the free water all day in the parks. They have small pockets so I could carry a few things and the cold water on our backs helped keep us cool all day.

I'm a minimalist so carry as little as possible into the parks with me. My normal outfit is sunglasses, t shirt, cargo shorts/capris, and OluKai Ohana flip flops (most comfortable shoes ever made:lovestruc). If my shorts don't have pockets that zip or button closed, then I'll carry a Vera Bradley mini hipster.

I wouldn't be caught dead in cargo shorts/capris around here, but for WDW they are perfect and we love going bagless.

Shorts with tee shirt or polo, backpack that can house my camera and all the stuff I will need when I take children to the parks, and for my feet, Clarks shoes/sandals/flipflops only...my feet nor back ache after a very busy day at the parks. If it's a super hot day, then I will wear capris so that my legs don't stick to benches, seats or sidewalks.. I love a bag with many secure compartments and I may have found a new one for my August trip.

I love that bag! I'm going to order that for my mom for our trip.

Good advice. I'm trying to look semi cute, because of the pictures, and because my kids will be looking totally adorable so I have to keep up. ;) Last time I went with capri pants, Crocs sandals, and an entirely too big Vera Bradley backpack (though to be fair I had a barely 2 year old and all her stuff). I love my Crocs, but after about 5 days I really wanted something soft and cushy on my feet. So, for our June trip I'm leaning toward:

Keen sandals (one of the leather soled ones)
Hiking type Columbia shorts (moisture wicking and high SPF :thumbsup2)
Any number of cute tops (easy)
Baggalini messenger bag - though now I'm thinking about that Piazza bag!

My ever present sunglasses and a hat (gotta keep cool to avoid a migraine )

I may look like a tourist, but oh well... :rotfl:

head to toe:
if hot outside
-sunglasses
-a Disney shirt picked out for the day, depending on park
-black Tink lanyard w/pins & pouch for cards
-cellphone holster
-black wicking fabric yoga capris
-teva sandals w/arch support bandages
(dbf carries camera & water bottle attached to his shorts. if he isnt with me, i will wear bermuda shorts w/belt loops to attach the camera & water bottle)

if cooler outside
-yoga wicking fabric pants (or jeans if really cold)
-one of my mickey hoodies
-toe socks w/my teva sandals
and the above shirt/sunglasses

I have a small cross-body Lesportsac bag that i have used but i really hate bag check so it usually stays home

I try to be as comfy as possible!:goodvibes

I would love to figure out how to go bagless in order to avoid bag check. Since we will have a stroller I'm thinking about just stuffing the "kid stuff" underneath.

I think I am going to have to look into the wicking clothes you talk about. I chafe really badly, and even with body glide and anti-monkey butt powder, I still chafed some. I used moisture wicking socks, and they were fabulous, but never thought about clothes that do the same thing. I am not used to sweating like that, and since I have to fit all my clothes to my waist and chest as they are the biggest parts of my body, my clothes are ill-fitting in every other area. They rub, rub, rub. I even turned my pants inside out one day to avoid the seams rubbing me. It didn't help, AND I looked like a dork!

I tried this and then remembered since we were using Magical Express, we had to be able to fold the stroller. That required taking everything out. If you are using your own car this won't be an issue of course, but for us it was terrible. We ended up just sticking with throwing our bags into the stroller and hitting the bag check. Next year we are doing small backpacks for everyone to distribute the weight. We need to get used to not having a stroller to throw our junk into!

As for me...

I went total Disney Dork in 2011!!!

*No hat b/c I can't stand them, but I used spray sunscreen dusted into my hair to keep my color from fading.
*Every day we had different homemade Disney shirts to wear. We did: Single Mickey head tie dye shirts, Triple Mickey head tie dye shirts, family vacation Mickey shirts with our top ten reasons for visiting WDW listed on the back, Epic Mickey spray dye shirts, Star Wars Weekends shirts, and then I created my own Linked Mickey heads shirt, bedazzled Mickey hiding in my pocket shirt, and hidden Mickey shirt.
*Capris or shorts
*Moisture wicking socks, Nikes for part of the day, Crocs for the rest
*a Mickey bag that could be worn over the shoulder or around the waist. Sort of a non-fanny pack.
*I gave in to the pin trading, but compromised and instead of a neck lanyard, went with the hip lanyard.
*a clear pouchy thing that clips to my shirt, pulls out when I need to show my KTTW, and retracts when I'm done. It was awesome.
*And on day one I sport the required Minnie ears.

I wasn't "hot" for sure, but I was as comfy as I could be (my chafing was much improved from 2010), and I had fun. I'm sure I'll be even dorkier this next year. I wear a gi most of the time anyway, so stepping off the mat and into my Disney world is awesome.

I wear to Disney what I wear in my everyday life. Shorts, t-shirt or nice top. I usually wear my Puma's but have worn Converse. A medium to large tote bag. I don't have special clothes for Disney or any theme park in general.

Shirt, shorts and sneakers? Not much to think about, really.

What's that they say about "great minds"? Thank you for being sane. :)

Last December, and again in a couple weeks, what worked best for me:

Long sleeve T-shirt (and I made the mistake of thinking I could buy a decent variety at WDW, so I'll pack more this year, so I won't get stuck with the one "Disney Parks" choice)

A ScotteVest with 22 pockets. http://www.scottevest.com/

Kakhi pants.

Ecco Seamaster shoes (w/GoreTex) Great for walking and keeping dry and can pass as dressier at restaurants

We've gone only in January and late Feb/early March and both had extreme temps. In January we had days in the 50's and days in the 80's - talk about having to overpack!

Typically bermuda shorts, a tank, and croc flip flops during the warmer days. Jeans, l/s shirt with a s/s for layering on top, and tennis shoes.

Simple, easy!

LOLOL!!! Love it! We should start a "Disney Dork" club! :thumbsup2
