What's your Mother's Maiden Name? Your First Pet? The Street Where You Grew Up?

Security question fail.

My high school mascot was a cougar, but I don't know if it had a name.

Those are the type that annoy the heck out of me. Half the time you put the correct answers and they tell you that you are wrong. Or they give you a choice of 3 lets say 'addresses you have lived at', so that you can create your account, and more often than not, NONE of them are addresses I have lived at. I call, and they have no clue what to do, so how would I know? I now just put random words instead of correct answers.

The kid who posts one inane question after another is annoying, but probably harmless. Just don't reply.

Or put them on 'ignore' and you will no longer see their annoying posts. I find that works great !!!

Good news! They had heavy duty grilling foil on sale for the price of the regular thin foil. I got the quality stuff this time! Protection squared!

This gave me a new thread idea: Who here uses "password" as their password???:jester:

Citibank always asks for mother’s maiden name.

Citibank keeps e-mailing to ask for our security info. We don't have an account with them. I assume it isn't really the bank asking for the info.

^^ Correct. NO bank will ever email you asking for that. NEVER reply to such emails.

And that error message is dumb. Just say which one it is!

I have run into that also where a security question will be asked but my answer is too short. I can't help it if my answer is shorter than what you allow. As in that pic....don't ask month questions if your software doesn't recognize the month with only 3 letters...its just stupid.

It's so annoying. Somehow DH got locked out of our mortgage account. He called them and the security question was what kind of car did we have when we got the mortgage. We know what we had when we bought the house. But our mortgage was bought out by another company at some point. We have no clue what car we had then.

I hate when the question is where did DH and I meet. We met at work. I can never figure out whether I answered "work", the town name, the company name, whether or not I capitalized town or company.

Whenever I see posts like that, I check the OP and if they only post in the Community Board I put them in the "Ignore" file.
