Mine is Rae. My dads name was Raymond. I was the second girl in the family and my parents thought they may not have a boy so I got my dads name. They did wind up with a boy three years later and my brothers middle name ended up being Raymond.

Mine is Jean also. My Mother's middle name is Jean so.... She always told me I needed to give my daughter the same middle name but I didn't.

I never liked Jean as a middle- it sounded too 'country' especially with my first name. She named me Mona after the Nat King Cole song 'Mona Lisa'. I have never liked Mona it either.

I dropped it when I got married and now use my maiden name as a middle name.

I don't have a middle name. And if that isn't unusual enough -- neither does my DH!

We both have/had long last names, which may have contributed to our parents decisions.

However, even with my new longish last name (not as long as my maiden name), I still chose to give my DDs middle names. That's because we chose unusual first names for them, and I wanted them to have something "traditional" to fall back on when they get older. Hopefully they won't choose to do it, because I love their first names. Their middle names are Victoria (a nod to DH) and Marie (carrying a common family name).

Mine is Rene. Of course, mine is misspelled (Girl's spelling is suppoed to be Renee, boys is Rene) but my mom thought it sounded sophisticated.

DD's is Nicole cause we thought it went well with Kaylie. DH's is Eugene which he hates. DS's is Dalton. Boys names were hard to pick out, and that was one we could agree on.

I was named after my great grandmother Elizabeth Eileen, but ( and this is a good story! ) my mom wanted to name me "Charlene" for my dad Charles. Then she remembered that she knew a girl in high school named Charlene that she didn't like...so she picked Eileen but spelled it Eilene...does that make sense, cause it doesn't to me!!!

My middle name is Angelique. I have no idea why I was named that, other than my mother had a flair for the dramatics. I dropped it the second I got married.

Oooh, now that I am thinking on it, I am remembering why the Angelique. I was born on the Feast of St. Ann, which is a Catholic holy day, and my very devout Grandmother insisted I be named Ann. My mother was not as devout, so she settled on Angelique.

DD's is Kaye (her Daddy thought of that--Kimberly Kaye, we call her Kimber)

DS's in Alexander-- DH and I just thought that sounded nice.

My parents call me by my 1st and middle name, (1st name was after mom's other college roommate and she wanted to call me by both name) and I hated it in school. When I got to Jr High, I dropped the middle name. My family still uses it, but no one else.

I don't have a middle name. My first name is too long!!LOL no room for it all!!(It's Dominique, but I have always been called Nikki) So, my DD doesn't have one either. Also because her name is Destiny and I felt it should stand alone. I love her name and nothing fits well with it. My DS is named after my husband so their middle name is Lewis.
