We've got a family tradition that everybody gets their own name, but the middle name comes from a relative.

Wow, I feel so strange, but guess what...I don't have a middle name. My parents are deceased so I cant ask them but I think my mom once said they couldnt decide on one they agreed upon so they decided on nothing. O.K. Bad enough my mom compromised and picked the first name my dad wanted, I would have rather picked the one my mom picked.

Sue is my middle name. I was supposed to be Peggy Sue because my dad was a big Buddy Holly fan (I was born in 1960), but my grandmother hated the name and convinced my parents to change it.

So I'm a Sandra Sue instead.

My middle name is Lenore - it comes from my grandmother - Catherine Lenore.

My grandmother passed away 3 years before I was born and then my mom & Aunt (my moms sister in law) got pregnant at the same time. My cousin is 8 days younger than I am and her name is Jennifer Catherine.

Both my cousin and I have a part of our grandmother in our name and I still use my middle name after my marriage. I dropped my middle name & kept my middle name.

My middle name is Marie. My name was given to me by my sister that died a year after I was born. I took her first name (Elizabeth) as my confirmation name.

I was named after my great aunt. Funny thing is earlier this year, my mother (the geneology freak) found a website with old census years dating early 1900's. Turns out most of my relatives did not go by their given names.....and my great aunt was one of them I got the name she wished she had.
