What's your maximum acceptable wait time...

...in general, for rides at WDW? I realize that some rides may be worth standing in line longer than other rides. But just in general, what would you consider an acceptable length of time to wait in line? At what point do you just decide to skip the ride because the line is too long?

In November, I'll be heading to WDW for the first time and I was looking at the Touring Plans predicted wait times for each ride during our visit. Except for a couple of headliners, the predicted wait times are all under 30 minutes with most being under 10 minutes. Being a complete newcomer to WDW and also having very little experience with theme parks in general, I was anticipating most waits without FP to be upwards of an hour. So to me, a 30 minute wait doesn't sound all that terrible. Is this just my lack of experience, or are those actually decent wait times?

Thanks!

Maximum falls somewhere between 40 & 70 minutes...
as you say, depending on the attraction.

If it is just my husband and me, I'll wait about 40 minutes for my absolute favorites. If our daughter is with us, it goes down to 30 minutes.

Our wait time limit is based on the attraction, but is typically limited to 90 minutes. However, I have never had to wait that long at WDW.

If it's just my husband and I, and it's my favorite ride, maybe up to an hour. Maybe.

If our daughter is with us, 30 minutes. Which is why we now rope drop every park and I plan out FP+ obsessively!

i'm with cakebaker, but some of the wait lines are interactive and makes the time go quicker so but if i really really wanted to do a ride i might go up to an hour.
cal:)

For me? 50 minutes.

If I have our son with us (2.5years old) 20 minutes.

I am a touring plans line stalker and have been very surprised to see 7DMT lately- even yesterday mid day to be 60 minutes!

I'd prefer not to get into lines with waits longer than 30 minutes, and even that's pushing it. I'd do 60 mins for TSMM, maybe. Maybe.

30 minutes. We like to keep the kids moving and can easily find something else to do if one attraction has a longer wait.

being that I went to college a UCF and went all the time, 25 min was the max for me and my friends....and with the FP strategies, it always seemed to end up being BTMRR!

Waited ~40 minutes for Soarin' and Peter Pan in June of 2012. That's about my max. Incidentally, a lot of headline rides were well under that even in the busiest part of a Summer day, although FP+ has messed some of that up.

In general, 20 minutes is my limit. I've stretched it out past 30 on occasion, for specific circumstances, like:

If I have a good reason to believe I won't be able to come back and try again later
There's absolutely nothing else to do in the area with a shorter wait
I'm so dog-tired that waiting is easier than leaving

20-25 minutes is the most I will wait at WDW.

I would only wait longer if it was for a special event or if I want to get good seats at a parade/nighttime show or something.

I find it hard to get in a line that is posted for more than 30 minutes. This applies to all the rides i have ridden a bunch of times. Last trip we waited in a character line for more than 30 minutes.

30 minutes is our maximum at WDW, otherwise we FP+ it or come back later when the line is quieter. Fortunately, we always go for 14 nights, so have the luxury of saying we can do it another day.

At Universal and IOA we go just for one day, so our maximum wait time goes up to ~ 60 minutes, but if possible we'll opt for Single Rider if it's offered to reduce wait times and get more done.

Another 30 minute family here. If we wait any longer than this, we start thinking about what we could be enjoying instead of waiting in line.

20 minutes is my general rule but will do up to 30 if it's a good ride or a family member really wants to do it. We go frequently, so I don't mind skipping things if the wait is crazy long. And if you go close to park opening, you can do a bunch of stuff before it gets busy...even now with the FP+.
