What's your favorite wine?

Opus One. However, I have only tried it at their Napa vineyard. Too expensive of a bottle.

Gallo Cab is really good and cheap all around wine. There is no better wine for $10 a bottle.

Another one is Clos Peagesus. I rarely see them in wine store. But I used to have the vineyard shipped it to me. Their vineyard is stunning.

Ravenswood is very good too. They are also a bunch of really cool people running the business / vineyard. If you ever have a chance to tour their vineyard, go for it. Relaxed, not snobbish.

Seriously older Robert Mondavi Reserve ,Forman,Silver Oak,Jordan,Charles Krug Cabernet are a few of our favorites.There are some much cheaper Chilean and Australian wines that can hold their own as well.
Had some type of dessert gluwine(sp?) from a small Canadian winery at a dinner in Niagra Falls.It was like you put an acre of grapes in an ounce of wine.Darn if I can remember the name but IMHO it was the best desert wine we have ever had.

My favorite we left in germany and I haven't seen it since.

Heck, most wines I see around here usually have dogs playing poker on the label.

A few years ago I accidentally was down in Orlando during the food and wine festival for business reasons. On the way down there I was talking to the lady sitting next to me. She turned out to be Laely Heron, the owner of Heron Wines out of California. She was VERY nice and invited me over to see her at the festival.

When DW accidentally flew down to join me that weekend, we went to Epcot and Laely GAVE us a bottle of wine and invited us to all these special events (of which we only made one). We then proceeded to hang out at her tent drinking her wines for free for a while. wooo hoooo.... We bought a couple more bottles which she personalized for us. I'll scan one and post a picture tonight. We were flying high that night.

We aren't really big wine drinkers, so these wines were somewhat new to us, but still were very smooth and nice tasting. I'd suggest trying them.

*********** -- if you prefer sweet and white, try a Riesling or, as others have mentioned, a Moscato. Those are about the only types of wine my DW likes as well.
