What's your favorite thing to do in Winter?

Look forward to spring and even more to retirement so I can live in Florida!

I like to walk the dog right after a snowfall at night. Everything is so pretty, clean and quiet, all the sounds are muffled.

I like to sled down the hill ONCE with the kids, I hate that walk back up again. When we go tubing in the Catskills I like to throw my head back on the rope tow ride up the mountain and take in the scenery. I love to SIT in the lodge with a stack of trashy magazines (i.e. People, US, Star) and read useless celebrity trivia while the kids are skiing.

At home I like to build a fire and watch a marathon of videos with the kids -- Indiana Jones, James Bond, Back to the Future. We can watch three movies in a row, no problem.

Speaking of basketball games, you missed a great one last night. Notre Dame women vs #4 UConn. Final UConn 51, ND 66.

As to what we like to do? Watch the snow fall and the steam rise from the hot tub. It's so nice to be out during a snow storm, as long as it's not too windy.

I also enjoy ice skating! It gets us outside and is something that is a little different to do with a group of friends. I'm really not all that good at it... I didn't start skating until a few years ago, and around here a lot of people have skated since they were young kids, but I still really enjoy it! There's a large pond in a park nearby with little islands that you can skate around and they light it up at night, and so it's really nice. Or, we also have the "River Trail" where they clear a long path along the river and you can skate for miles.

I don't ever get to go to the "big" games, tho I love watching college ball on TV!!

Tonight I head down to Hillsdale to watch my DS play Ferris State! Go Chargers!!!

Tomorrow I head to my other son's HS game up in Lansing!!

My DH & I love to ski (he's good,I take my time), but DD doesn't partake in our love for it (she's a warm weather girl) . We haven't skied for the past 3 yrs. Gee I hope I remember how!
