I'm getting ready to repaint, and I'm looking for the perfect tan. Not too pink, no green tones, not too gray, not too yellow, just a nice go-with-everything tan. I have at least 15 swatches on my walls and nothing is speaking to me! Any opinions? And could you post pictures if you have them?

Benjamin Moore 1032 Bar Harbor Beige is what I had in my old house.

My dad's house is 1053 Sierra Hills.

Thanks for the suggestions! Kirby, I'm not sure where to buy Kelly Moore paint. I'm going to check out that Harbor Hills color...

We used Sherwin Williams, but can't remember the color name...

I can find out though, if you're interested.

Used Valspar signature from Lowes Eddie Bauer collection Golden Mansion for living room, Caramel for basement and Pecan for my bedroom. All 3 great tans.

Ah-ha! I just looked, thinking I could trigger my memory, and I did! It's called Camelback. And as usual, it's hard to tell the true color online, but it's very nice, I love it!

I can't name just one favorite tan paint. Here are some ideas for nice tans.

Sherwin Williams
- Blonde
- Nomadic Desert
- Kilim Beige
- Latte

Benjamin Moore
- Lenox Tan
- Stonehouse
- Shaker Beige
- Sepia Tan
- Monroe Bisque

Laura Ashley Sand 3

I have Camelback sampled on my wall, and it looks much darker then that. :confused3 The next one up - Whole Wheat - is better, but looks a little green in certain lighting. This is so hard!!

It probably looks a little darker when it's on the walls... I used the flash and probably had bright lights on too. Let me see if I can find another one.

Gobi Desert
Behr Paint from Home Depot
My hubby really likes it. It's in almost every room in our house. Some have other accent colors and some don't.

Here's another picture, with my DD, but it may give you a different look at it...

And one more, you can't see it really well, but it shows you how it looks with our leather sofa in front of it. We bought that after we painted too...

And I feel your anghst! We're putting new tiles up in our kitchen, along with new wood floors, and then painting. But we're keeping the yucky old cabinets, just can't afford that. And besides, they're still in good shape, they're just that 1950's orangey colored stain. So I'm having a hard time picking out a color. I would love to do orange, like copper, but no way with the cabinets. So I think I've finally decided on a yellow.

Benjamim Moore used to have a color callen Big Horn that was beautiful-don't knoiw if its still in production. There is a color called Jackson Tan that is fabulous!

Thanks Cindy! That's pretty close to how it looks on my wall. It's a nice color, but I see green in it, maybe it's the lighting in my house. Who knew there were so many tans!!

Mine is called Sandy Lane by Duron. I have it in four rooms that I wanted neutral. It's a lighter tone than the pictures I have seen posted.

You're welcome... I don't really see green in it on my walls. We have the blue carpet, as you can see, then all golden oak doors and trim. We did the ceiling with the lightest shade on that paint chip too, I think it had 5 colors on it. So it's really going to depend on what you put in the room with it too. And like I said, we bought that sofa afterwards too, which is dark cream/tan colored.

Hi Steph:wave2: :wave2:

The main part of our house (minus bedrooms and kitchen) are by Behr from Home Depot. 300E-3 Clair de Lune for the walls and 300E-2 Calm Air for the ceilings. And white for the crown mold and base boards. It looks really good and is a good base for all the blues, apricots and yellows in the bedrooms! Come on over and check it out anytime;) Good luck deciding.
