Probably my favorite resturaunt @ WDW is The Primetime Cafe!!! I love the waitresses who act like your great-aunt! The decor looks totally original to the decade! You really do feel like your waitress is your great-aunt and the cafe is her house and you have been time-warped!!! :p There is a TV in the waiting room that plays really old shows and has old commercials and stuff!!! Your "Aunt" will probably get onto you for not eating your vegetables and having your elbows on the table.
There was one poor girl whose waiter brought her into all the different rooms in a rolling chair and had everyone wag their fingers at her and say "Shame, shame, no elbows on the table!" It was hilarious. I actually put my elbows on the table on purpose to see if I'd get in trouble but I guess she didn't see me because she didn't do anything to me!!!

I currently have 2 favorites:

1. Citricos - this became one of my favorites due to the classy, elegant atmosphere and GREAT food. We were supposed to go to 1900 Park Fare, but we waited about 30 minutes past our ADR (meanwhile people with later ADRs than us were being seated). Anyway, I went up to the manager, handed them the pager and told them they could take us off the list, we'd never be back. I then went out in the GF lobby and called upstairs to Citricos and the wonderful CM said she could get us in pretty quick. We went up there and within 20 minutes we were seated and ordering. The decor in there is just amazing and we were thrilled with our dining experience. Even better, since our dinner time got pushed back so far, we were eating during Wishes, which we could see part of since they put us at a table next to one of the big windows. The only thing we didn't like was the citrus infused martini... yuk. Anyway, we are going back in 2 months!

2. Boma - dinner here is also wonderful. It's nice to be able to have the options to eat different things than what you can get at home. We enjoy the variety of exotic foods and have never left dissatisfied. Sometimes the wait to be seated can be a pain, but we've always had great service. It also doesn't hurt that it is located in the AKL, so we always go a little early and checkout the savannah views from the observation decks... we also admire the lobby area and partake of some beverages at Victoria Falls (mm..rum runners!).

Boma - I love everything about the AKL, especially this restaurant. In my personal opinion it is the best restaurant I've been to in Disney. Between atmosphere, selection, and service its been a great experience everytime. Even though the food has some exotics twists to it, I believe there truly is something for everyone, even picky eaters like myslef, and it gives you an opportuniy to be a bit daring and try something new! Very fun and delicious.

1. Jiko, because the food and service our always excellent. they have many outstanding dishes to choose from. There wine list is the best I have seen at WDW.

2. California Grill, Outstanding food & service. We always have to start with one of there excellent flatbreads.

1. Sci Fi resaurant in MGM. Absolutly the best place we have ever eaten. Your table is 50's styled cars and all of them are like your parked at a drive in theatre. And on the big screen they got movie previews and commercials from the 50's. Great for the kids.
2. The rainfores cafe of course. It was a little loud and pricey las time we went, but it is an experience

How to choose, how to choose...

1. Spoodles! We've been to Spoodles every trip since they opened, often more than once. The food is great, the decor is fun, and it's always a great experience.

2. Boma. All the reasons the above posters said! Great food, LOVE AKL, great service, wonderful variety, and that dessert table just keeps growing and growing. :goodvibes

3. Flying Fish. This is a fairly new favorite, but we loved it so much that we went twice on our last trip! It's got beautiful, fun decor, wonderful service, incredible food... we love it!

Over the years the family( 3 generations+?) have selected several favorites. No 1 has become O'HANA, something for everyone. Even my vegetarian dil likes it there. Always good.
No 2 has become the Whispering Canyon for breakfast, everybody likes something and its always fun.
No 3 Cape May- everyone likes something and we always do a number on the clams and mussels.
If its just the lw and myself we like Le Cellier and Artists Point.
No trip is complete without the ESPN Club and if the grandkids are along we always hit 1 or 2 character meals (Crystal Palace and Chef Mickeys are the most often chosen).
We also like the Flying Fish, Mama Melrose and Boma.

Biergarten is my favorite:
  • My kind of food
  • Great entertainment
  • Good beer

DW's is Ohana - even as a vegetarian.

Oh boy...do I have to pick just one?

My favorite would have to be Victoria and Alberts. I've had the pleasure of eating there twice. The food is just out of this world, 5 star, magnificent. And the ambiance is unique, romantic, and just unparrelled on Disney Property. The service is impeccable, personal, and just adds so much to the experience. Not to mention, it has Chocolate Kona Souffle's, which should carry a surgeon general's warning for being addictive. Oh, and the way they brew their coffee is just cool to watch. This is one of those fine dining experiences that I rate at the very top of my list of favorites in the world (the great big one, not just WDW).

My second favorite, and it's actually much closer than some would thing, is Jikos. We ate their back in '01, just after it opened, so I'm basing my preference on how things were back then. I'm not sure how drastically things have changed, if at all. But the food was out of this world. It was a sensory experience that I want to repeat, again, on an upcoming trip (when the kids are a bit older....or we have family along to watch the kids for the night). And the service was spot on excellent. Given how different the Jiko's menu is/was, I have to give mad props to our waiter who knew the menu backwards, forwards, and literally upside down. He was able to give us very detailed descriptions of not only what was in certain dishes but how they were prepared and what their "heritage" was. And they, too, had an addictive dessert (the Cardamon Candies/Purses) It was an amazing experience.

My third favorite would be Narcosees. The food and service were what you would expect from an upscale fine dining eatery. The Lobster with Vanilla Sauce was unreal. Everything was cooked to perfection.

And last...Boma's. It is the best buffet I've ever had the pleasure to eat at. I've sung it's praises in other threads, too. It's not for the picky eater sect, and you need to have a bit of an adventurous palette (not much of one, but a bit), but the food is just flat out unbelievable. Better than most sit down resturaunts at WDW, IMHO. And the servers actually can explain each and every item up on the buffet, will offer their recommendations, and are VERY knowledgeable about the cooking methods and ingredients. NOT what you would expect from your standard buffet "server/busser".

Oh, and an honerable mention HAS to go to Kona Cafe for breakfast. I will never stop singing the praises of the incredible Tonga Toast.

My new favorite is Kona :) We tried it for the first time this last trip. I like visiting the Poly since I have never stayed there. Great service, wonderful steaks and very yummy desserts!
