What's your favorite hotel?

My favorites are two I've never even stayed at: The Grand Floridian and The Plaza in NYC. I've spent time in both and just love the ambiance of them. They're on my bucket list to actually stay there!

Of the ones I've actually stayed in, Portofino Bay Hotel at Universal Orlando. I really enjoyed The Palmer House Hilton in Chicago as well.

The Trump Soho was beautiful.
Four Seasons in Seattle amazing.
We are heading to Disney's Aulani in Sept. I'm so excited to see if that becomes my favorite.

In Disney has to be Polynesian, it was just the atmosphere

Best small luxury boutique hotel----- Hotel Regina, Paris
Best hotel chain---- Mandarin Oriental. the one is NYC is awesome.
Best beach hotel--- congress hall, Cape May nj.

We go to car shows and races in Detroit 2 or 3 times a year and always stay at the Atheneum Suite Hotel. Large 2 room suites, floor to ceiling windows overlooking some crazy traffic, and everybody knows us after 6 years.

The Burj and the Atlantis in Dubai. Also in Valencia the Hotel Las Arenas Balneario (right on the beach).

The Grand Hotel on Mackinaw Island is my favorite, even though we have only stayed there once. Would love to stay there again but just can't justify the price. Coming in next is the Chippewa Hotel on Mackinaw Island.

We also love the suites at the Drury Inn, Frankenmuth.

Another favorite is the Hilton Doubletree in Port Huron, used to be the Thomas Edison Inn.

Omni hotel is pretty nice, I've only stayed at the Nashville one.

I think the most memorable was the Pera Palas Hotel in Istanbul. It was years ago, but I still remember what a wonderful visit we had.

These days, I'd probably say The Bellagio in Vegas. I love that place.

I am not a person who likes to walk on the wild side. I'm sure it was exciting.

Probably the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite National Park. Never stayed there, but have visited several times and had meals in the dining room.

Not sure how the whole deal with the transfer of concessionaire is going to work out. The current concessionaire (Delaware North) wants to be compensated by someone, claiming ownership of various trademarks. For the most part the National Park Service seems to want to stay out of it, although the new concessionaire (Aramark) would probably prefer that NPS assert that they have ownership so that they don't have to pay some sort of transfer fee.

I, too, love a nice hotel. The best room I have ever had was at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. My friends and I were upgraded to a HUGE suite. The suite had a foyer, two full bathrooms (His and Hers) a dining table and chairs, living room area and a king sized bed. The room even had a doorbell. It was unbelievable. We walked into that room and started screaming like little girls!

A couple of other favorites:

The Ritz Carlton in Beaver Creek, Colorado
Loews Coronado Bay Resort in San Diego

I would love to stay at The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, but it is VERY expensive -- about $800 a night for two people. That price includes breakfast and dinner, but it is still a lot of $$$.

Favorite Domestic Hotel: The Shore - Santa Monica, CA
Favorite International Hotel: Hotel Maria Cristina - San Sebastian, Spain

Next year I'll be staying at the Intercontinental Thalasso in Bora Bora which might take top position. And then hopefully later in 2016 at the Park Hyatt Tokyo which is where "Lost in Translation" was filmed so that should be a good one as well.

The Marriott Marquis in Times Square, NYC. DH and I have stayed twice at the newly opened (as of September of 2014) Hilton in Times Square as well. While it is nice, I prefer the Marriott Marquis. Unfortunately, the Marquis can be out of our price range most of the time.

Our second favorite would be the Fulton Steamboat Inn, in Lancaster, PA.
