I love the Phil Collins stuff from Tarzan, particularly the "Just look over your shoulder" song. Great anthem for adoptive families. What a bit of genius for Disney to have "parent generation" artists do the soundtracks for the kid movies.
"Wish Upon a Star" is from Pinocchio. Jiminy Cricket sings it.
We were at my father's wake, and the funeral home played an instrumental of this. My sons and I just looked at each other and smiled...a little teary eyed, but it gave us a smile just the same.
1. "Wanna be like you" from the Jungle Book. Love the jazzy instrumentation and the character interaction between Mowgli, Baloo and King Louie. Always trying to scat during the solo part, but end up slobbering on myself.
