What's your favorite crowd calendar?

Second note: Yes I know that this is VERY Early for planning anything other than where we will stay, but I get SO jealous of everyone else planning, so I had to do one! I expect to refine the plan I have now next summer, since that's when we will know park hours, ride closures, etc.

Why would you say that??? picking when you go, helps with how long you can go, which leads to where you want to stay, then what you want to do and then repeat because they all influence each other.. eventually you run out of time and your on your way home wondering if you went on vacation at all..

most of the calendars got really rocky and very wrong all the time (including blogging they they were trying to figure out why). easywdw has been closest and I like how they list what's going on both at WDW and in the real world so you have an idea of why they are saying the crowd calendars are what they are... It's great research for you to guess what type of crowd and for when you want to come.

a 2017 trip in my opinion is going to be rough to plan. Pandora is going to stir up when you might want to be here, new non-disney avatar fan guests and we dont' really know when it will be. If your not a frequent visitor and this is important coming early in the year and booking now is probably not a great idea. On the other hand if you don't care about it or a frequent traveler early 2017 might be a nice crowd size time to come depending on what else disney does to try to get people in before pandora opens up since it will shift many vacations to not miss it.

My case is a little early to plan, because I won't be going until early 2018. :)
But I agree with you about getting a framework in place.

easywdw has been the best overall IMO. But Disney has been so neglectful lately in releasing information & updating park hours you can't even plan accurately now for a month out. We go in 3 weeks and they JUST updated MK park hours like yesterday or something and they still haven't done HS yet. Week before last they switched EMH's around between 2 parks for the first week in June. Let alone the idea of releasing opening dates for new attractions.

Beyond planning tentative trip dates and narrowing it down to a couple of resorts I wouldn't waste time trying to plan any details for a trip for 2018 this far out tho. The info. this far out is just too unreliable.
I am expecting lots of changes in the next year. Right now I am just trying to get the framework of our trip in place, so I can figure out if there time to go to miniature golf, Fort Wilderness, etc. That's why I am looking at which park is best to do on which day.

if you are going to places besides Disney, undercover tourist gives you a crowd calendar to compare Seaworld, Legoland, and Universal along with Disney. I used it last Sept to decide what days to go to Seaworld and Legoland and it really helped (particularly since they don't have free fastpasses there). If you are exclusively staying at Disney, easywdw is the best. I think Josh is hilarious and I love when he geeks out with spreadsheets, sort of like me.

I was at wdw last week. I found that crowds were pretty good. I don't think waited for any rides more than 30 minutes, and most rides were under 20 minutes. We looked at multiple crowd prediction sites and picked a time when most kids would be in school and after we thought animal kingdom would be opening at night. In any case, we started early based on the calendar predictions and left the park around lunch time. In the later afternoon, we asked the bus drivers what park seemed least crowded and selected our afternoon visit based on advice from bus drivers. Even without fast passes, I think we waited a lot less time.

I use TP for crowd calendars. I've recently looked at easywdw and have to study it more. Not too familiar with that site.
