What's your favorite comfort food?

I'd call it a contradiction in terms!!

My comfort food is and always has been peanut butter and jelly. I do love turkey and mashed potatoes, but if I want comfort, I want it fast. Hence the PB&J!

When I think of "comfort food", I think of a nice hot, home cooked meal like:

pot roast
meatloaf
beef stew
chicken soup (with pastina!)
stuffed cabbage
broccoli rabe and sausage

that kinds of stuff.

In fact, I plan on making a pot roast for tomorrow in my crock pot, I bought some broccoli rabe for later in the week and last week I made beef stew.

It's definitely the "eating season" here in New England.

I like homemade dumplings with butter on them. I guess it's the Slovak version of pastina?

Ahhh--pastina---nothing like mom's chicken with pastina....my mom still cooks this for the gran kids, they eat it all up!!

ultimate comfort food....homemade bread, or doughnuts that my mom made and pizzelles.

chocolate does work in a pinch...mmmmm.....snickers!!

Ooh, this sounds intriguing.

My favorite comfort foods are soups especially split pea and chicken noodle, chicken and dumplings, meat loaf and corn bread. Or maybe some good spicy red beans and rice or jambalaya if I'm in the mood for spicy food.

But of course, chocolate in all of its forms is the ultimate comfort food IMO. And huge quantities of it!

In my books, ALL food is comfort food! We just celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving with the best comfort food of all, turkey with stuffing and gravy. Yumm.
