What's your favorite character meal?

I will second Cape May cafe. Awesome food & it was realxed & not overly crowded. We got to see Minnie, Goofy & Donald.

I have two boys- well, one has never been since he's a baby! But anyway, our family tradition is Chef Mickey's. We always go on our first night there since we are just getting in from a long drive. It helps us get into the spirit! The food is only OK though. I love the character interaction there. We also went to CP and it was great as well. The food there was much better. Finally, we've been to AK's breakfast- it was Breakfastosaurus but I think the name has changed. I am not a breakfast person, but the kiddos loved it. I say kiddos b/c my niece always went with us on our trips. Oh, and my DS loved CRT- but he was only 3 then, so he just liked all of those princesses loving on him!

In all of my 8yr olds 9 trips the only one place she consistently wants to go back to is Chef Mickey's.

ETA~ We only do breakfast at CM but if you were looking to do a lunch or dinner I would go w/ Crystal Palace we ate there for the fisrt time two weeks ago and it was really good we had the first seating for lunch. I would say it also depends on what characters you are interested in seeing.

My family and I were able to do several character meals and I would also have to say that the Tusker House was great. The food was great, and the characters were very interactive. The CP was a close second though and price wise was very economic.

Another vote for Crystal Palace! I got some great pics with pooh and friends. They all come right to the table and interact. If you have younger kids (did I miss their ages?) they might really enjoy the hundred acrew wood part (where all the kids parade around the place holding up their green napkins)
Even my 8 yr old thought that was fun- the toddler didn't understand it till it was almost over so I have a pic of him doing it all alone LOL

Ohanas. We never miss this for breakfast. We do it every trip. The food is delicious and it is served family style so you dont have to worry about missing the characters. The food and the characters come to you:thumbsup2

Chef Mickeys here too! Even after our kids are grown we'll still keep coming back. Sort of a tradition.

Food wise, we love Safari Donalds at the Tusker house!!!! It was wonderful and we had great service!!

My boys favorite meal when we were there was playhouse Disney at Hollywood and Vine. THey probably got the most character interaction at this one. And they got to get up and dance with the characters. They loved it. The food and service was good too!

Chef Mickey's!!! I have 4 boys and even the 14 yo loves it there!

My favourite character dining was 1900 Park Faire at the Grand Floridian. It's a buffet style breakfast with great food. The characters were as follows:
Alice In Wonderland
Mad Hatter
Merry Poppins
Pooh
Tigger

Second choice would be the Garden Grill at Epcot. Characters were a follows:
Farmer Mickey
Pluto
Chip
Dale

We've only done the Crystal Palace but we love it there. I especially think a buffet is the way to go with kids. Mine are very picky eaters so at least they have lots of choices. This trip we're moving on to Chef Mickey's (for Valentine's Day breakfast). I can't wait to try it out!

I'm going with Garden Grill. The food was plenty (family style) and the characters were WONDERFUL. Came around several times and interacted with everyone (us big kids too).
We have also done Chef Mickey's and that was fun as well, but GG felt more personal.

We just got back from our first trip.
We did 1900 park fare, Crystal Palace, and CRT.

Food: Crystal Palace's dinner is AWESOME!!! We ate there twice we liked the food so much. The character interaction the first night (later dinner) was great, the second night for an early dinner sucked. We were there an hour and fifteen before we had one character come to our table. But lucky for us the second night was just for the food so although we waited to make our kids happy we didn't care much about the characters.

CRT breakfast was very good food. The characters are quick so the interaction is minimal.

1900 PF...the food was ok the desserts were AWESOME. The characters were good...loved Lady Tremaine. Cindy and the prince were fine too...just quick go around except for the step mom and sisters...they take more time.

I really liked CRT and recommend it for breakfast. My dd was in awe meeting cinderella and eating in the castle.
We liked CP for the food and advise you to go at a later dinner time to get better interaction with the characters. We went very close to 8 and we saw the characters SEVERAL times. I took alot of pictures that night.

We've done 3 character meals with our 3 year old son, and here are our rankings:

1. Crystal Palace: He loved the Pooh characters, and the adults loved the food selection (we did lunch here).

2. Chef Mickey's: Breakfast here was good, but it always seems crazy here, and the characters flew by.

3. Cape May Cafe: We added a breakfast here on our last morning, and it was just okay. We waited forever to get seated, and the food was pretty standard. One great thing about this meal is that we were not hurried out of there by the staff, it was very relaxed. I think the fact that it was our last day put a damper on this meal from the get go.

We love Character Meals and have done most of them. Our faves that we do every trip are Chef Mickeys and CRT.

We've only been to one, but we really enjoyed Chef Mickey's for breakfast. There was a good selection of food, and the characters were great. Lots of fun for the kids. We're definitely doing this one on our next trip.

*One thing I liked was that is was very classic disney (goofy, mickey, minnie, donald, pluto).

We thought Chef Mickey's was our favorite character experience with the best food. We had dinner at Chef Mickey's but I bet breakfast would be good too.

I think I'd have to speak for my entire family and have to say Chef Mickey's is above all our favorite Character meal. All the partying and waving the cloth napkins in the air just makes the day go great :)
