The man was a genius! I hesitated putting Psycho on the list because so many think that was his greatest film. For me Lifeboat is one I'll watch over and over. Tallulah Bankhead was awesome in that movie!
I really like all of Alfred Hitchcock's movies but my two favorite are To Catch A Thief starring Cary Grant and Grace Kelly and Rear Window starring Grace Kelly and Jimmy Stewart. My favorite thing to do is try to find where Alfred Hitchcock "sneakily" apprears in each of his movies.
I can't believe Rear Window didn't even make the list. It's one of my all time favorite films. Each character in each window represents one of James Cagney's fears about his own life. Grace Kelly's costumes are some of the loveliest on film and the plot is riveting.
I'm casting another write in vote for Rear Window, possibly because Grace Kelly's character and I share the same first name. I also like The Trouble with Charlie and Family Plot. Even though the latter two are not in his classic style, they definitely show the master's touch.
To be honest, I haven't yet seen a Hitchcock film that I didn't like.
Really hard to choose, I love most of them. The 39 Steps fascinated me the first time I saw it. The storyline just keeps moving along at such a pace...and it was made in the thirties !
Rebecca was one of my all time favorite books, and Hitchcock did a beautiful job of following the book. But the actors were all wrong IMO. Hitchcock wanted Ronald Colman for the role of Max, but the studio insisted on Olivier.

Ooh, yeah the 39 Steps rocked. Of course, North by Northwest was the same movie, updated. I love both of them.
Oh, and the Lady Vanishes is another great one. Very, very creepy movie.
As for Rebecca, it was a good movie, but pretty un-Hitch, IMO. I wondered why and then I read about the studio interference with the film. So while it was his only Oscar winner, Rebecca was not one of Hitch's favorite movies.
The same with Suspicion....the studio forced Hitch to change the ending (for those who have seen it, let's just say Cary Grant's character was supposed to be evil). Another film that ended up not being one of Hitch's favorites.
