What's Your Dream Holiday Itinerary?

Love these ideas for cruises... my DS is fairly young still but the older he gets I can see us looking to cruising summer and Christmas mostly...
It would be amazing to have more variety not just same old... blah

In my area, colors are starting to appear so I can imagine the foliage will be even nicer near Quebec.

Yeah! We will be in Quebec City on Saturday. I'm really hoping for some great color the next two weeks throughout Eastern Canada and New England.

I live in CA and there are plenty of storms over the Pacific during December/January. I don't think I'd be willing to sail to Hawaii at that time of year. Plus it's really cold here. Vancouver would be much, much colder, as would those days at sea.

Dream itineraries (otherwise known as itineraries I see other cruise lines sailing as I contemplate how long I'm willing to wait for DCL to step up their game...)

-- Venice, Adriatic (Croatia, etc.), and Greek Isles
-- Thailand or Bali down to Australia

Thanks for the CA weather input. That is really good to know.

We're having a drop (around 50 degrees) for a day or two at this moment. The magic is gonna happen.

My son would love the cold. :confused3
We live in Massachusetts, near the NH border. By Thanksgiving, there's also the possibility of snow. Highs are generally in the 40's, lows in the 20's by late November. And yes, 80% of the leaves are on the ground by Halloween (the brown oak leaves are the last to fall)--I have to rake them off my driveway every year for trick or treaters. Mid-October is generally the peak foliage season in New England...you have about 3 weeks of good color...and then they fall...and need to be raked up, lol. (I actually LOVE fall in New England, despite the raking...it's much better than the snow shovelling that comes next!)

You and I must live really close to each other. We’re right along the border too.

As for a cruise wishes, I’d like a Cuba cruise during Christmas and a Greek isles cruise in the summer.

All of my “dream” cruises will involve Mardi Gras week, as most of the country does not have that week off of school, so the DCL fares are a little less outrageous.

I‘d love to have a S. Carib. during that week. Even if the cruise was 10-11 days, I’d be up for letting the kids miss a few days of school to accommodate that.

My colleague just did Hamburg, norway, scottland, iceland, Greenland over to st john, some other east coast stops and then NYC. Flew one way back to Europe. 17 days. Unfortunatley not during school break. My DS would have loved it. I think if one is really tied to scheduling, it wouldn’t hurt to venture outside the Disney bubble. I’ve seen many interesting sailings in other lines. Now what I wish DCL did was during June-Sept a western coast. They have one but limited dates and ports. For me start in Vancouver-Seattle-SFO- LA area ( with overnight and DL port excursion). Not sure if Vancouver covers that law. If not go to ensendada. And back up. We’ve wanted to do a road trip. Cruise would be cool, though one miss all the nice little things in between

I wish Disney would do a round trip that visits Iceland instead of different stop and start points. Or a Transatlantic that stopped at a few more countries before heading over to see more of Europe.

It's interesting that you feel that way. The fact that our cruise started in Copenhagen and ended in Dover was actually part of the draw for my family. It let us add on a few days in 2 different cities rather than just one.

For me it's just easier and cheaper to do a round trip flight out of just one city. So I typically avoid any cruises that aren't round trip.

You'd be surprised just how easy and cheap it is to get from London to Copenhagen. Plus there is a way to book the ticket without booking 2 one-way flights. Most people on our cruise (from the US) did the same thing as us and enjoyed having the chance to tour England and Denmark. So now when I see the RT cruises in Europe I'm less interested in booking. It was much less of a pain than I thought it might be, and much more of a bonus actually.

Adventures by Disney does some of the Christmas market river cruises in Europe. We'd love to do that some year.

I just want the Fantasy to stop in San Juan during their Eastern Caribbean itinerary. Is that too much to ask? Flying to San Juan is prohibitive from CA and we really want to take our kids to see where their families are from.
I just booked a Fantasy cruise December 14, 2019 that goes to San Juan.

Oh darn! I was hoping to help you out. My son is in college and he is out that week.

Yeah, they moved to giving a 2 week break starting as close to Christmas as possible and going back around Jan 8. They used to go back Jan 2 and get out that week prior to Christmas. :(
