I posted the following on an "O Brother, Where Art Thou Thread" but thought you guys might also be interested since most of the songs listed have been mentioned on this thread.

Although it's only "inspired" by the film, I thought you guys might want to know about it if you didn't already. I recently bought a CD at the
Disney Store called "O Mickey, Where Art Thou? - The Voices of Bluegrass Sing the Best of Disney." I absolutely love it and highly recommend it, especially if you enjoyed the soundtrack to "O Brother." It's a lot more mainstream than the soundtrack to the movie, but it is very, very good. The songs/artists included are:
1. "Circle of Life" - Collin Raye
2. "Zip A Dee Doo Dah" - Elizabeth Cook
3. "You'll Be In My Heart" - Kevin Montgomery
4. "Baby Mine" - Caroline Brown
5. "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious (Instrumental)"
6. "Bare Necessities" - Stonewall Jackson
7. "When Somebody Loved Me" - Sonya Isaacs
8. "You've Got A Friend In Me" - Amanda Martin and Lyle Goodman
9. "Mickey Mouse Medley (Instrumental)"
10. "When I See An Elephant Fly" - Robbie Fulks
11. "I Will Go Sailing No More" - Charlie Louvin
12. "When You Wish Upon A Star" - Ronnie Milsap
I bought this CD without hearing even a snippet of a song (which is rare for me). Also, I tend to be very skeptical when it comes to well-known songs being sung by not-so-well-known artists (I had heard of some, but not most, of the artists). However, I have to say that I was very pleasantly surprised by this CD.
One thing I really appreciated was that, while the artists did have similar styles as the artists who originally recorded the songs, I truly felt this was because they were matched to songs that fit their vocal and musical styles, rather than that they were trying to emulate the original artist. In fact, I actually preferred some of the versions on this CD to the original version (in particular, Kevin Montgomery's "You'll Be In My Heart").
Like I said earlier, the music on this collection is, not surprisingly, more accessible to the general listening audience than the actual "O Brother" soundtrack. Actually, most of the songs could be more accurately classified as "country" rather then "bluegrass," but that's really splitting hairs. What matters most is that this CD is just plain good!
If you want to see more about it or listen to some samples, here is a link to the

Sorry for the long post. I promise I don't work for Amazon or Disney (at least not yet

)...I'm really just a music critic wannabe!!
