What's your all-time favorite Disney song?

FOR ME ITS HANDS DOWN (YO HO YO HO A PIRATES LIFE FOR ME). I START TO HUM AND WHISTLE IT THE CLOSER IT GETS TO MY VACATION :Pinkbounc

This was easy for me, "When You Wish Upon A Star". Every time I hear any arrangement of it, I get a lump in my throat, and feel homesick! This is becoming difficult, because my younger DD now has a figure skating routine to the Mannheim Steamroller version of the song, so I hear it every time we're at the ice rink!

Number two favorite it on the "Magic in the Streets" CD, well actually, it's all the instumentals, Fantasy, Show Biz, Discovery, and Adventure. I have them on my computer, and any time I'm stressed, I play them and calm down.

Great thread!!!!!

"A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes" is my favorite, and the one that always makes me think of Disney is "When You Wish Upon A Star".

Zip a dee doo dah from Song of the South. Thats my all time fav.

I love the music of Disney so I am really enjoying this thread. Truth be told, I wish I had started it, but instead of being (too) jealous I'll just give thanks to Harambe! Thanks! :teeth:

When I was a wee lad I had a cassette (no, not wee enough to be an 8-track!) of various Disney songs. One was called "The Ugly Bug Ball." I loved that song but I have never seen it on any collections since then and I don't really know anything about it. Has anyone ever heard of this song? What is it from? Who sings it? Thanks for any info!

Keep those lists coming! :)

I have a number of "favorites" based on different eras in my life.

Teenager (remember, I'm getting to be a fossil): Zip a dee doo da

Adult with young children: Now is the Best time of you life! CoP

Adult shortly after divorce: (helped get me through some tough times) Great big beautiful tomorrow! CoP

Lifelong: (Original movie version only) When you wish upon a star! No one does it like the cricket!

All of these evoke special memories for me. Either fun or inspirational or just plain warm and fuzzy.

"Gotta crawl, gotta crawl to the Ugly Bug Ball..."
We have that song on one of our Disney sing-a-long videos. I believe it is sung by Burl Ives. Everytime my DD watches that video that song is stuck in my head for days:D

HuggaBaloo, "The Ugly Bug Ball" is sung by Burl Ives. It is on The CD "Classic Disney" Volumn 1, which I think you can gety at the Disney Store as well as Amazon.com.
Amazon sells "Classic Disney" in a five CD set for only 35.00, here is the link DISNEY CD AT AMAZON

Woohoo!!! :bounce:

Thanks RealMickey! I have looked at that collection several times but never noticed that it was on there (I'm not the most observant person). Now I think I'll definitely have to order it.

Mommystieg, I know what you mean about that song getting stuck in your head. I've been humming it ever since I brought it up!

Thanks to you both for reminding me it was Burl Ives who sings it.

On the CD collection it says that the song is from "Summer Magic," so I did a search on Amazon to see what that was. It was a movie released in 1963 starring Hayley Mills and Burl Ives. I'm ashamed to say I had never heard of it but in my defense it was before my time :teeth: (and I tend to be partial to the animated films).

Anyway, thanks for the great info! Anyone else got any other favorites?

I heard "The Ugly Bug Ball" for the first time when I had called Disney Reservations one evening, and was put on hold.
I was laughing out loud, it was so funny!! It was the first time I was hoping no one would take my call until the song was over!! I forgot all about it until this post. Thanks for the reminder!
Also thanks for the info on where to find it.:)

Other disney songs I love are, Grim Grinning Ghosts, Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow, and Zip a Dee Doo Dah.

I love "Under the Sea" From Little Mermaid, "When you wish upon a star" and I love to listen to "Hakuna Matada" from Lion King!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I love "A Whole New World" from Aladdin....

Well, I guess I should since it was my wedding dance song! ;)

Without a doubt....When You Wish Upon A Star. I can't wait to hear Jiminy at the Wishes fireworks.

I can't believe I forgot about the Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Room song! I love that one!

I also love the song from James and the Giant Peach about sailing. At least I think it's from J&TGP.

What a hard decision, but, the song that I sing the most is Feed the Birds, so that's what I'll pick. :)

Bobbi

I can narrow it down to two, but not easily!! (And, if you asked me this question tomorrow, I'd probably give a different answer - lol!) But today, I'd have to say...

"When You Wish Upon a Star" & "Candle on the Water"

I always liked the Bear necessities from the Jungle book. That was a great movie.

DS2 sings It's A Small World all the time. Then at his gymboree class, they were playing the song..and he was sooo excited.

For me, hands down Candle on the Water...I love that song. I love almost all the songs. I have all the disney music and I listen to it all the time!!

DH loves Reflections of Earth.

DD is only 1, so we'll have to wait a year to find hers out! LOL

I love Beauty and the Beast. And from the parks, Tapestry of Nations and Illuminations. We always are playing the Millennium CD.
