My biggest tip for when it rains is to have a game plan of where to meet your party if you get lost in the sea of yellow ponchos!!!:sunny:

We hop in somewhere to hide out in torrential downpours but as soon as it has cleared up some we head out even if it is still raining a bit.. We use Dollar Tree ponchos which are clear and dispose of them when we are done with them, they are $.50 apiece that way as they come in packs of two for $1.00.

We laughed hysterically at ourselves as we seemed to be a two person parade walking down main street while others coward under the canopies provided by the shops. If it's a hot day you may just welcome the rain. :)

My tip is to make SURE you get a poncho BEFORE you get to the park. If the rain is heavy then go to one of the little eateries and enjoy a snack and get your second wind. If it is just drizzle, Then DON'T COMPLAIN!! It is hot as HADES in the parks and you will welcome that drizzle...I guarantee it!

Wear sandals! I swear, it takes days for a pair of sneakers to dry out completely.

There is no better time to go for splash mountain- it's not like you aren't wet already (or already have a poncho on if you dont want to get wet). Unless it is a storm with lightning, you are good to go. Be advised, any outdoor motion attraction will involve getting smacked in the face with faster moving water (because of how fast YOU are moving).

My wife and I had terrible weather for the duration of our honeymoon, but we made the best of it. At least the weather was clear for the flight down and the day of our flight back...

This is one of the best tips! I have gotten since reading this boards!

On our last trip those afternoon showers popped up at least once a day. It would rain really hard then stop! But before I left home I had purchased me and my daughter several rain ponchos from the dollar store. It would rain hard - cover up toss the wet ponchos in the garbarage. The next day get another poncho out of the suitcase put it in the mini-packpack and off we going prepared for the rain again!

I felt sorry for all of those who had so spend extra for those "cute" but expensive disney ponchos.

Buy a poncho before you go!

Do not let rain ruin your day, it is not worth it and in florida the weather changes by the hour!

WEAR SANDALS! Duringthe rain you will get soaked and afterwards there will be puddles everywhere and no one likes wet socks!

If you are staying on site, use this time to take a break and go back to your resort. Usually the rains come later in the day! Head back to the parks afterwards.:earsgirl:

If more than a brief shower is expected, bring a hat with a bill (I like a baseball cap that I can attach to my belt). With the hat on under the poncho, rain doesn't get in your face.

Also, if it's a warm day and the rain isn't a thunderstorm, head for a water park. As long as there is no thunder/lightening the rides will remain open and you'll have the place practically to yourself. I believe the saying goes "you can't get any wetter than wet".

Had the family walk around the parks with our water shoes, our sneakers will still not dried out from the rain of the day before. Always have a plan b if everyone is water logged. My 2 plan b's that I used lately were the ds went to the contemporary arcade and dh and I ran before the storm over to the cape may buffet and snagged a ps for the two of us and sent the ds to beaches and cream and the arcade. We were stuck there for hours. The cape may one was last aug. when they shut down the transportation because of the tornado warning. The crowds came behind us and it was a zoo. Perfect timing for us.

Get a stroller cover. cover it anytime you leave it unattended.

If you ignore tip number 1 and find yourself with a soaked stroller (like we did) remove the pad and use disposable diapers to dry off the stroller.

Get cheapie ponchos in matching colors other than yellow (even though I think disney sells clear ones now).

They sell nice thick ponchos at K-mart. They are 3.99 but they are much better than the dollar ones. I had those last year and they worked ok for the adults but not the kids.
