What's your #1 park tip?

Another vote for getting there by park opening. Huge difference. Also, I'd add to just take your time and enjoy the place. We followed a plan this summer and it did get us on a lot of rides. But we came away feeling like we rushed the whole experience. Next time, we're going to enjoy the little things more, particularly at AK.

Do they open the gates early? If so how much earlier?
They let you through the turnstyles anywhere from 8:15 to 8:30. At 8:50 there is the Welcome Show on the train platform. Then as soon as it is over, they let down the ropes and you can go enjoy! My best tip is, if you are going for the first time, if you can, get maps to all the parks before hand and LEARN the layouts, it will make everything seem more familar when you get there. It is also a great way to get the kids involved!

To see your favorite characters, do character meals. It's so much more relaxing and enjoyable if you're not standing in line, hot, tired, and feeling rushed.

Go left... If you have to pick a direction, go left. Most people will go right. At MK if you arrive early, hop the train and go to the back of the park and work your way to the front .

That would be DH's advice!!! He's ALWAYS saying, go to the left!!!

If you hop the train, how long will it take you to go to Fantasyland? We want to hit Fantasyland first, but if we have to go through Main St. and the castle, knowing dd we'll never make it there.

If we take the train to Fantasyland, can we take the umbrella strollers on if we fold them up?

Thanks

Shel

If you ride the train around, you will actually only be able to get off in Toon town or adventure land. You can fold up umbrella strollers though. I would go through toon town to Fantasyland if I were you. :goodvibes

lOTS OF GOOD TIPS.

If you have little ones:
Be sure to bring your own strollers. Not only a time saver but easier to find in a crowd of strollers...AND you get to have them while waiting for buses (or bringing kids to the parking lots) and around the hotel.

Going back to the room for a rest is not always the best plan. when ds was 2.5 we could return to the room and all 3 of us would nap. Biggest problem was sometimes we woke too late for our dinner PS! But that was ok, we'd opt to eat in hotel food court and get to the parks around 6, well rested for a late evening. When dd was 2.5 (and ds5.5) room naps were more frustrations that resting! By day 3 we just stayed in the parks and let dd nap in her stroller. We did a few rides swapping off w/ ds...and used the time to shop, sit and rest, etc. DS was able to go a whole day, and at night time, he was tired, so he'd go right to sleep..and w/out him awake...dd would go to sleep. ahhhhhhhh
