Hi all :wave2:

I am following Kelly's awesome lessons and I was thinking I wish we were in a classroom and I could show the pics I have questions about. And I got the idea for this thread! We can post the pic and get answers about what settings and such that we should have used. So I will post mine to start- then feel free for showing yours and ask away!

Give as much as you can for info on the picture.

(I am assuming this is ok and that the pro's will help us out :goodvibes ) ANd I thanks you all in advance!!! :)

Lets start:

Skin color washed out!
Digital Camera Fuji Finepix 5.2 set on auto

The flash is too strong for the situation. You could back up and zoom in or lower the flash output (if your camera has that option).

You might also want to see if your camera has a night portrait mode. You would need to have the camera very steady for that setting (tripod recommended). That mode keeps the shutter open longer to properly expose the background.

This is a perfect thread for me I just asked for help with one of my shots.
Here it is:

I know it should be cropped but I am more concerned about the lack of color and contrast.

Check to see that your white balance is set correctly. Are you using your camera in Auto mode? Was it a cloudy day (or did the sun momentarily go behind a cloud)? Was this the only photo taken that seemed washed out or has a bluish tint to it? Or was it constant in all your photos. Usually, and I stress the "usual" part of this sentence, if you're shooting in AUTO, you shouldn't have to worry about white balance...however, try switching to Manual and switching the white balance to the sun or if it's cloudy, the little cloud symbol and see if it makes a difference in your outside shots.

That's all I can think of....perhaps the real technical people can think of something else...

All of the pictures are about like this. It was around 6 PM with an over cast.
I know I should have been on the other side of the pool but they wouldn't let you sit there.
I really will have to get the manual out to look up the white balance mode. I haven't played with that feature.
The camera was set on auto at 200. I used the rapid fire last 3 burst mode.

green eggs and hair?

IMG_3053.jpg

taken in the woods late morning so guessing the intensity of sun through the leaves bounced the green but some her whole head looks green( :rotfl2: )

Yes it has zoom so that could work! Also, it has a night mode too. Thanks!
