Whats wrong with September?

We saw some little love bugs in 2000, I think they had more than usual that year. The last 2 years we didn't notice them at all. As fas as the heat, I didn't really mind it and at least you can swim. (I don't do cold pools!). The crowds are very manageable as stated before. We love Sept/Oct the best of all the times we've been.

I always go the 2nd week of Sept. no lines, low rates, and rain.
The rain is just as good as fireworks, as here in Phoenix we don't know what rain is, :-) We found if you plan your lunch around 3:00 PM you will miss the afternoon rain. Most of the time.
I'm planning my Sept trip right now, thing of the Beach Club this year.

The great thing about going in Sept is NO CROWDS!! We were there in Sept 2000...and we enjoyed the parks with no crowds. BUT...and here is the BUT...it was very HOT! It was so HOT you could almost pratically cook eggs on the hood of the car! and here is another BUT...those darn "lovebugs" they are everywhere! And here is the last BUT...the park hours are shorter.

Most of my trips are in May so I can't talk about September weather but the love bugs are out in May too. Sometimes more than other times. I hate bugs too but these do not bother me. The are not real big. Even when they are...um...ahhh...connected together they are only about half an inch long. The are not at all interested in humans and don't come after you or cloud around you. I have only had a couple land on me and you can flicvk them off with your fingere. They are alson not ugly or scary looking bugs so that helps too. :)

No love bugs sept 6-15th 2002! We had a ton of them in May 1999. Didn't even see 1 this year.

I've been there in July and the heat feels much worse because you are packed in with a ton of other hot, sweaty people. In September you can spread out, take your time, and relax in the AC without everyone else trying to crowd your space.

I hate crowds more than heat! We love September, and will probably go back then in 2004.

Thank you everyone for all the info. I'm prepared for the rain and the heat and now bugs thanks to you all--we are soooo excited about just being able to go to WDW that we can handle this.

we're planning to bounce back in september soon after labor day too...nice hot weather, kids in school, good rates, should be
"what's right in September!!!"

Thanks for all the info! (even though I'm not the one that started this thread- it was a darn good thread to start! :) Helping me a lot I think)

Soo... everyone is in agreement that despite the heat (considering I should be used to it) and despite the possible rain daily that you would STILL pick going Aug 31-Sept 9th rather than the week of Thanksgiving? Yay or Nay? It's probably WAY busier the week of Thanksgiving, right?

my mantra *I will not care if I get rained on, I will not care if it's hot... but please keep the bugs away from me*

We went the 2nd week in September once and had a great time. Because the kids were back in school, it wasn't that crowded. The weather was so nice. 80-85 every single day. The parks did close early but we liked that because we were forced to relax and do other things.

Worst thingis it is PRIMEHURRICANE Season ,so there's a higher chance of nasty weather. A couple years ago my 2 SIL's and hubby's were at WDW when it actually closed down for 1 1/2 days due to a Hurricane headed towards Orlando. Put a real Damper on their trip.:(

September is one of those months when it is still mostly hot, but it isn't miserably hot like it is in June or July or early August. There is usually at least 1 afternoon thunderstorm (lasts usually 20-30 minutes) but dries up quickly afterwards.

I would go again in September, but prefer our January trips when it is not hot.
