I've scrolled thru several threads in this forum and see no mention of this resort. I'm curious as to why, since it is obviously (by the look of the website) a very nice place to stay. We are booked there the weekend of Jan. 4 thru 6 for a national cheer competition and I'm seeking the opinions and tips of people who have stayed there recently. It's fairly new, from what I understand. We'll be moving over to the WL after the weekend, but I want to enjoy this resort as well. Any comments?

I can't imagine there is a thing wrong with it - it is absolutely beautiful.

I haven't stayed there but it is adjacent the Rosen College of Hospitality and I have visited there several times. I think Rosen Shingle Creek would be a great place to stay.

I suspect it isn't mentioned much here is because it isn't really close to Disney property (its an easy 15 minute drive though) and its not really close to anything except the Rosen College of Hospitality.

It also is on the expensive side and I think people that stay there have a reason to stay there (convention) or golfing.

i haven't stayed there, but have stayed at the rosen centre, when i was there for a convention...
the rosen centre is very very nice so i assume where you're staying is also nice...

i think they don't appear on this board, because they're quite expensive and usually used by conventioneers, rather than park goers...

We were booked there at a great rate for the last two days of our vacation Dec 8-16. The hotel and the rooms are absolutely beautiful (5-star), BUT the valet staff was enough to make us immediately check out and stay somewhere else.

I think this is a great place for a weekend stay, but not somewhere you want to be if you have a lot of luggage. They definitely do not like people who do not want to valet park. These were by far the rudest people I'd ever dealt with at any hotel.

Also, once you get spoiled by staying in condo/villa style accomodations, the rooms here will seem cramped.

For anyone interested in this resort....
I had asked about it a while back, and the response was that it is very nice. True, but VERY large! I guess it has to be, to attract conventioneers. We were with a large group as well. The weather didn't allow us to enjoy the pools, but the rooms were nicely appointed (nicer than Disney deluxe, IMO) and the deli restaurant had many choices. We didn't eat at any of the other on-site restaurants. All this said, I still could not wait to head on to my beloved WDW!!
