I think it was Designing Women
She was just on MSNBC boo hooing and crying about people putting words in her mouth!![]()
I didn't see anyone with a crow bar forcing the F bomb to come out as she stood on that stage a few months ago.
Once again I say this woman is a whack job! I'm glad to see the Edwards campaign is taking the high road so far.![]()

(*Historical footnote here -- I am making a total leap of imagination about the "nicer" part from the somewhat benevolent expression on the mummy's face. There IS a historical anecdote that Hatshepsut's son, upon ascending to the Pharoah's throne, systematically had all the faces of Dear Old Mommy's statues defaced ... so maybe Hattie and Ann have more in common than killer cheek-bones)![]()
It's the large hands, Adam's Apple, and deep voice.i have always thought she was a really bad drag queen.
I think it's a bit hypocritical for Elizabeth Edwards to ask Ann Coulter (or anyone, for that matter), to lay off negative attacks on her husband, who wants, after all, to be the most powerful man in the world.
If you disagree with most why are you here? Just curious. I do not go to the family board and tell them how wrong they are by the way they raise their children (for example).
And in order to provide the other side I feel that first you must make yourself aware of all of the facts. You (by your own post) do not even know what comments were made about their deceased son.
Sorry but I think smartestnumber5 was just calling a spade a spade.![]()
Yep, I agree. She was and is out of line.
Mark, do you really think your comments can do anything other than offend? You are clearly welcome here, and more than allowed to have your own opinion. All we ask, or at least I ask, is that you keep yourself informed of the depth of the issues to this community. These are not simple matters that can be dismissed as "simple name calling." Unless you've experienced hatred directed at you, solely because you breathe and walk on this earth, then you need to open yourself to understanding the viewpoint of those who have (and continue to have) that experience.
Perhaps, with some research and attempt at understanding what it means to be a lesbian or gay in today's society, you will come to the realization that no one deserves to be discriminated against regardless of who they are. No one.
Sorry, guys, but markp1 was half-right here:
Agreed. What's doubly annoying is the self-help drivel EE used to attack Coulter. I mean, all that treacle about "dialogue that is based on hatefulness." Sorry, that's WEAK. JUST SAY WHAT YOU MEAN. Call Coulter what she is -- a sorry comedienne who has no business hanging around with adults.
If I disagree with most, why am I here? That's a fair question. Simple answer is that if we can't discuss our disagreements civilly, how can we expect to learn from each other? I came here partly to learn from others--unfortunately, what I've learned so far is not very encouraging--and partly, if I may say so myself, to hope others can perhaps learn from me (I think there's been even less of that, but hopes springs eternal).
Do I really think my comments can do anything other than offend? Perhaps I'm being naive, but yes I do. I won't deny my comments are provocative, but I did not intend to offend, and truly hope people were not offended. Having said that, and I know I'm treading into dangerous waters here...but the rest of your post displays what I (and I think many heterosexuals) can find so off-putting about the way homosexuals express themselves sometimes, in that they are oh so quick to play the victim. No doubt homosexuals have been treated badly for all the wrong reasons but guess what, so have many conservative Christians. The "nobody knows the troubles I've seen" song doesn't play well any more, and trying to compare who's been treated worse is not much fun either.
Thanks for dealing with the substance of my post. You'd make a really good moderator, sotoalf.
Hmmm, maybe it's a good idea at this point to get back to the original topic--Ann Coulter and John Edwards. I may not agree with everything Ann Coulter says, but does anyone think she spends $1,250 for a haircut? Has anyone in here ever spent that much on a haircut? The most I've ever spent is $20 (including tip) and it shows!
