Outside your door onboard is a fish shaped message holder (sometimes it's a starfish, or sea horse)
If your particular cruise has a Cruise Meet thread running (check the Cruise Meet board), someone on it will step up and say "I'll maintain the Fish Extender exchange list".
You sign up for the FE exchange. You make a hanging organizer-type bag to hang over your fish (hence fish EXTENDER).
There are pockets in it for others in your FE group to drop off little gifts/surprises for you during your cruise. You do the same for them.
there are myriad explanations of FE on these here boards....suffice it to say, you MIGHT get intimidated when you read all the posts about what people give/receive and about the new "rules" of engagement. ignore most of it and just have fun!!!
We just got off the Wonder and I was surprised a bit at how few FE's there were. I honestly maybe saw less than 10 on deck 6 and 8 were our two staterooms were. And very few door magnets as well. Way, way less then our Baltic cruise this summer.
One was given to us as a cruise gift for our trip. While we don't plan to "sign up" for a group, we are going to use it and bring along some cheap stuff if we come across others. If someone leaves something, great. If not, no biggie.
