What's with October this year?! And Wait list question

I actually just booked our ADR's about a week ago and was able to get those no problem at all too.

There are multiple resorts that are doing referbs and I think that is affecting availability. As they finish referbs rooms may be made available that previously weren't so keep stalking the web site!!

yesterday noticed my WL for AKV standard studio came thru for 5 nights starting Columbus Day. WL wasn't placed until mid March btw.

haven't even looked @ ADRs, likely will continue to dine majority of meals offsite. Did look this week while @ WDW, surprised to see BoG available mid week for both lunch and dinner.

congrats! still waiting on BWV WL but I did pick up club level at Jambo for a night I was missing as I try to piece meal a vacation while waiting for the WL. As far as BOG, isn't the Lunch quick serve? That would be why - quicker turn around. The dinners may be because there is MNNSHP going on all month and regular ticket guests can't reserve after 6pm. You have to have a MNSSHP tix to reserve after (well, technically you could reserve but they won't let you in to dine if you don't have a tix.

I'm waitlisted for one night at BCV in a studio (Oct. 24th -- Monday night). My daughter couldn't get a reasonable flight home, so had to extend one more night. I'm not optimistic, but hoping as the refurb goes on, some out of service rooms get added back into service. I've been going in October since 2006 when I became a DVC member. Each year it gets harder and harder. I now book at the 11 month window at 8:00AM and this year I got shut out on my first day as my room was sold out by 8:01AM. But that's because I'm a BWV owner and always book standard studio. Tried again the next day and managed to get the missing day (probably relesed by a walker).

Well, my waitlist still hasn't come in for BWV for the 7/8th for a 1br, but the entire month opened up for studios this afternoon. They must have put a room back in service. Of course, the system was down for booking!!! arg!!! By the time I was able to get back on after carpooling from sports, most of the month was gone again but I was able to get the nights of 6,7,8 in a studio with boardwalk view. I still would like the night of the 9th, but if it doesn't open up, we will just stay most of the day on the 9th and then drive home. We really would prefer a 1br but the kids want boardwalk more than they want a 1br in AKV. So I took this and will keep the waitlist hoping the 1br opens up.

We have been going to OKW in Oct for past 10 years and this year when booking for end of October we had 4 days waitlisted. Our booking was 6/7 months out of our home resort and we just waited to long to book. I think with the ease of booking on line DVC members do it for ease and change dates all along. We had all days that were waitlisted filled with in 3 weeks. The system to fill and update your reservation is pretty good. Better than calling all the time.

I am trying to add 1 night to an existing reservation for Thursday November 10th. Nothing, no studio, no 1 bedroom nor a 2 bedroom is available in all of Disney. But all websites, like travelocity or orbitz is showing plenty of DVC units available. It is absolutely frustrating.

Cash inventory is always completely separate from the point-bookable inventory, though.

Hey everyone - I was waitlisted for a trip in Oct with my DH but are going to cancel our plans to visit WDW. I had already booked a studio at BLT for Oct 23 and a studio for 3 nights at the Poly - Oct 24-27. I am getting ready to cancel these ressies so hopefully this will open up these rooms for a fellow DISer here on the boards! Just wanted to give y'all a heads up in case one of you could grab them. Keep searching - I was looking for the same night- actually the whole weekend and was able to find something this past weekend at AKV in a value studio on the 10th. The last place I expected ... So it's possible! Good luck!!

I saw the BLT studio show up, but the poly one didn't, so must've gotten grabbed by the waitlist. There has been very little moment lately.
