Ok, so....my 180 window opened up today....I got alot of great ressies, including tough ones like Ohana and Le Cellier, however, I wanted a dinner and breakfast ressie at Cape may Cafe, and there were NO times available...all week??? I am hoping that this is just a computer glitch and then when I call at 7 am, I will hopefully get it...is there something I am missing?

Well, I called at 7:00 am and the very nice CM said that it wasn't sold out, simply that it had not opened up for ressies yet...she said that there are a few restaurants that lag behind for some reason in opening their ressies...she named off Cape May Cafe, HDDR and a few others....she said to just keep checking and calling and I should be able to get it...I was able to make a Cape May Cafe ressie for 2 days from now with no problem...so 6 months out should NOT be an issue:sad2:

IDK but hopefully when my windoe opens, I wont have that problem! I want to book the Clam bake dinner....sorry it happened to you. Maybe in a few days itll open

Keep trying for Cape May - it's well worth it. And it would not be filled that quickly. I think it's one of the "best kept secrets". Lot's of people are either not aware how nice it is or think it's too far away :confused3 whatever! I often hear people say they hadn't ever considered it until someone else tells them how great it is, then they go and are "hooked" ;)

I am definitely going to continue to stalk the site for the ressies, as we picked the Beach Club resort partially because of that restaurant!!! :headache: The CM seemed confident that it would open up in the next few days, so I will continue to try. :surfweb:

I've also been trying to make a reservation at Cape May (for July) for the past few days. Today I was told by a CM that the restaurant was lagging behind (wasn't sure of the reason) and that it was not sold out already.

Yes, that's what the CM told me this morning...I did go in just see how far out they were booking and could get ressies up through 7/7, so it appears they are about 1-2 weeks behind...I will just keep checking...grrrr....

I know you said you found out the reason and they haven't opened booking yet. I just wanted to let you know if you don't get a reservation that you want keep checking. We leave in a little of 2 weeks and I wanted to book Ohana because we have never tried them yet. Nothing available. I have been checking several times a day for a couple of seeks now and I finally got one for the night I wanted within 15 minutes of the time I was hoping for. Hoping that Ohana's will be worth all of the extra work!

Oh yes...thank you...I am actually quite used to stalking the website for ressies because we don't normally book this far out...it's annoying!!! That's why I was so excited to do the 180 day this time...only to be "too early" apparently...:headache: I did get 'Ohana though...it will be our first time there...I hope it's good too!! :thumbsup2

I see you're from NC. Have you eaten at the seafood buffets in Myrtle Beach? We found Cape May very much lacking compared to those, but it's been several years since we ate there. I'm curious to see if it has improved & is closer to the MB seafood buffets now. Although, it has been a few years since we've been to MB too.

IMHO, I feel like the clam chowder is the best we have ever had anywhere. We have been "up east" several times and were so very disappointed in an area that we thought should have had the best. I am originally from LA so used to different types of seafood, but love Cape May mainly for it's chowder, crab legs and fried shrimp (a very light batter). We haven't enjoyed the beach restaurants nearly as much.

Thanks for the feedback. I think MB has better seafood buffets than I've had anywhere else. I was just curious if CMC was up to that level now. At the time, CMC only offered a fraction of what MB buffets offered. Plus, the night we tried it the crab legs were pretty pitiful compared to what we'd had in MB. We were disappointed, because we've been looking for a great seafood buffet, since we moved to FL. We really wanted to be impressed. We'll have to give it another try just to see what we think now that we haven't been to MB to eat their buffets in a while.

tarheelmjfan, not trying to mislead you. Cape May definitely does not have the variety that the MB buffets have, but what it has we love. The crabs can be hit or miss in size, but we have not experienced that ourselves. Our daughter said they were small when she was there a couple years ago and hard to peel (dry). They were never like that when we went - slipped out of the shell very nicely. Good luck :goodvibes

I was able to make dinner reservations at Cape May last week for the 1st week of July. I'm not sure why they are saying it hasn't opened up yet. Sounds like a possible IT problem.

Don't panic! We had the same thing happen with us when we tried to book Cape May & Ohana back in September. It took about 2 days and we were able to get them. Same thing...CM said they just weren't open for ressies yet when everyone else was for our 180 days. And to the OP....Ohana will be worth it:thumbsup2

I keep checking...I'm hoping they open up soon, its stressing me out...I know, stupid...:rotfl:

Thanks for the additional info. It sounds like we hit a night like your DD did. We'll have to give it another try, when we stay at an Epcot resort again.
