I was going to be there on that weekend 5-4 thru 5-8 for the last couple days of "Party for the Planet" and was going to AK and wanted to see the new "UP" show, but for the whole 2 week period there are no show times listed. The shows are listed starting after May 5th.... so I was wondering if they were doing something special with the shows for Party of the Planets since it's starting April 22nd.

We have Fastpasses for it on Saturday, 5/19.

I’m waiting and watching to find out if the show contains birds swooping at the audience because if that’s the case, I’ll be elsewhere while my family sees it.

I'm looking forward to seeing it May 13. Hope it's as natural and not too cartoon-y, with birds riding bicycles.

Oh no! I hope it still opens on time. We were planning to see it either 4/28 or 5/1 and therest no times showing until 5/6 like you said.

Nothing in the world would get my daughter in to see it even if birds don’t swoop over the audience. I have never seen a bird show where they didn’t honestly

I will probably go see it while my daughter does single rider on Everest a few times. I never got to see the old bird show.

The Parrot Jungle in Miami back in the ‘70s did a bird show without birds flying.

They had a parrot band and played piano, cymbals and a xylophone. They walked a little tight rope and rode tiny bikes, but no flying. It was a bird show that I could enjoy.

Thank goodness Disney didn’t turn these wonderful creatures into a carnival act but promoted them within a more natural environment.

Looking forward to UP continuing this tradition. If that’s an issue for phobic individuals, the birds shouldn’t have to pay the price.

There is no bird show my daughter could enjoy. We did the Wild Africa Trek and she about cardiac arrested when the tour went into the aviary. We had to quickly leave and rejoin when they left that area. Even the parrots that fly over AK park opening cause her to panic. We wait in a store until that is over. Any random bird causes panic. Not fun. Not fun at all. But life goes on.

I don’t want to like your post and imply that I’m happy your daughter feels panic, but trust me—I know how she feels.

The good news is that I’ve gotten less panicky with age. I can now appreciate the parrots that fly over AK from a distance, but I’m not about to put myself in a position where a bird of prey is going to skim the top of my head as it flies by. No way.

A parrot on stage wearing a bell hop costume and carrying a tiny suitcase is cute though. Some may say it’s beneath the bird’s dignity to wear a costume, but I think pets in clothes are adorable. I’m demented that way.

I love the part when the birds swoop over the audience! I hope that's in the next show!!! Ducking does no good - they just fly lower!

Yes definitely more dignified if it wears a suit and carries the little briefcase. I am also humored, must be the same type of demented lol

I blame my grandmother, who I otherwise believe is a saint, for my bird phobia.

When I was a small child, she would take me to a park that was full of pigeons. It was as bad as Venice, and I was so little that they physically engulfed me.
