Most of what I see are those sneakers that have mesh on the top of the foot and I do NOT like that. The last pair I bought had the mesh and the mesh was ripping after only 2 months of wear :headache: so I took them back to Modell's. I don't want the mesh sneakers and need a wide size.:confused3

Have you tryed reebok they run wider and lots of leather top styles. The running shoes have mostly mesh tops. If you are a lady you might want to try reebok's that are mens. Men's shoes tend to be wider.

The mesh helps your feet to breathe. Apparently many people have a sweaty foot problem that you don't have!;) And most shoes with mesh are running shoes. If you are looking for runners without mesh you have a long search ahead of you.

Many walking shoes do not have mesh. Reebok and Nike both have walkers without mesh that come in wides sizes, if you think that will help.

New Balance has a lot of wides sizes without the mesh. I don't really like it either.

I second the New Balance shoes! Plus they're made in the USA so your dollars stay here!

My family wears nothing but New Balance. I had two pairs of 846s for my most recent trip to the World and loved them.

Avoid the styles numbered in the 400s and go with above 600. If you have a New Balance store near you, you can go there to be fitted. There are lots of online vendors you can use after you find a style and size that suits you.
