What's up with the AP rate delay?

Does anyone have any information on the AP rate for January and February? THe rates are usually posted by this time, yet this year they are not. Any speculation out there as to what is going on, when the rates will be posted and what they will be?

We called last night (wednesday) to ask about AP rates for feb, we were told these are the only discounts not available yet! It is getting a little frustating for me, I would like to make my hotel ressie so I can take advantage of good airfare!

If you've been following the resort board at all, there has been a little discussion on this. Right now, several CMs have been saying that the current Winter Getaway rate is exactly the same as an AP rate would be. Now we all know that not all CMs are in the know, but this would imply that *IF* AP rates are going to come out, there are the same as they are for the Winter Getaway - which by the way, is just a code, not a package.

The other theory is that the Winter Getaway has to be booked by December 3rd and is valid for travel through February 13, so *IF* AP rates are going to come out for January or February, they probably will not come out before then. Current guess is a couple of days after that AP rates will be available *IF* Disney decides to make them available.

I'd book that Winter Getaway rate right now so you can get your airfare and then if AP rates come out, switch to them then,

Okay, the day after we got back (nov 15), I booked the All Star Movies at the FL Res rate of $49 for two rooms for DH, DS, myself and my mom and her DH. This is for Jan25-27 (fri-sun). this is just a quick weekend trip , so we decided to take advantage of this rate, which is ten dollars better than the Winter getaway rate on the official site. Now , the site doesn't mention any mods or deluxes for this code, but I'm assuming that people are using that code to get "Winter Getaway" rates??? If this is the case , then you may be right about this being the same or better than AP rates and that's why they haven't given out Ap rates yet. the only thing that makes this NOT GOOD then , is the fact of having to book by Dec.3.

Okay, I just saw the Winter Getaway rates on Mousesavers... not bad. I'm still $10 ahead of the game with my fL Res rate and was able to get the Movies.

They are probably holding out and seeing how many rooms they can get at rack rate, or the other discounts that are out there so far. Usually, AP rates are out about 2-3 months ahead of time, but I think it will be less time given for now.

We have reservations with the Winter Getaway rate for early January at AKL (SV, $189+tax), WL ( WV, $164+tax), and CR (GV wing, $159+tax). With the exception of the AKL, I believe these prices are only $5 or $10 more than the AP rate being offered through Christmas. If I remember correctly, the AKL rate we have is $20 higher than what is currently being offered through Christmas as an AP rate.

Since we require 2 rooms, we are continuing to hold out hope for an even better rate!!

I currently have Winter Getaway rates for January at the YC (standard room $193 including tax) and AKL (deluxe savannah $265 including tax). The YC is about what I got for an AP rate last January. The AKL rate, however, seems a bit high. I believe I have seen rates for AKL Concierge for around $239 posted before. Still hoping for AP rates soon...
