What's up with the 1500 loop?

I wanted something from the store tonight and only had 15 minutes before they closed so I found an empty campsite in the 1500 loop, parked there and walked over. When we left we drove through the rest of the 1500 loop & it was completely empty. Are they doing something to it? It seemed odd that the entire loop would be empty.

When we were there in August 2016, we ended up being a "Day Early" and they let us stay in the 500 loop but said we would still have to move because they were doing maintenance on the loop. (Trimming and the like). I think they try to schedule it during a "Slower" time and then avoid using the loop.

A completely empty 1500 loop? Wow, that would have been something I would have liked to see. A ghost loop :)

Yeah, we requested 1500 and ended up in 2000 (which takes 2 buses to get to the trading post area/pool) due to the tree trimming. :( I tried to drive the loop yesterday and part of it was completely blocked with fallen branches.

I've been placed in 2000 8 times vs only once in 1500. I'm not a fan of 2000 but I've learned to live with it:) Do you know there is a shortcut to the pool through the group camping area? There's a bridge that leads over to 800 or 900 which is right across the trading post. It reduces the walk and is bikeable as well. The need to take 2 buses "home" after a movie or the campfire is so incredibly annoying.

If I were to be in 2000 loop, I would ask to be put near the entrance to the loop which means a campsite with a low number like 2001 or a high number like 2069 (IIRC there are almost 70 sites in the loop). Being near that entrance means it's a short walk over to the bus stop in front of the 2200 cabin loop rather than using the 2000 bus stop. I recall visiting amcc (first time I met her) and she was near the end with the high numbers.

The 2200 loop along with the other cabins is served by the Orange or Yellow (don't remember which) but they both swing over and go by the Trading Post pool area, one on the front side and one on the back side. Don't remember which is which but using the 2200 bus stop will put you on just one bus ride to that area.

If you are about halfway around loop 2000, then yes, use the shortcut to the right of the back of the Creekside Meadow/group campsite Comfort Station and you will see the bridge that will take you out into 900 loop. It's not bad walking or biking at all.

Mind blown! No I didn't know that! Thanks!
We are in 2034 so have been cutting through the group rec area to the creek side meadow bus stop, is it over there?

Ok, I'm totally looking for this tomorrow!

The bridge that leads to the 900 loop is at the very back of group camping, if you come out of the 200 loop into group look right the foot bridge crosses the canal that is between the 2100 and 2000 loop that winds behind the 900 loop.

I knew I had pictures of the shortcut somewhere.

So start over around 2040 or so and look back through the outer set of campsites and you'll see the CS for Creekside Meadow through the trees.

Walk towards it and look towards the right over those little mounds.

You'll see the bridge. I've biked and walked it.

You come out in 900.

When you hit the 900 loop, follow the road to the right for the shortest walk to the Meadow TP.

Look for the group comfort station. There's a little path between two campsites. Before you get to the comfort station, walk to the right over the little mounds and the bridge is right there. That shortcut has allowed me to get over my initial extreme dislike of 2000. :flower:

We took the shortcut tonight to the Singalong, oh my goodness. amazingly quick. So much better than taking (and waiting for) 2 buses!
