Anyone know why the weekends in March seemed booked up. I was hoping for the weekend of the 3rd, but no such luck.

Locals seem to snag the weekends pretty quickly. You might want to try changing your arrival and/or departure dates to weekdays. For some reason this seems to work even if it goes over the weekend.

ESPN weekend, Braves training camp and most of all Spring Break..

Okay, now I'm getting kind of worried. I want to arrive April 30. I wasn't in a big hurry to book because I figured I had plenty of time and there were lots fo campsites. I'm guessing maybe I'm wrong? Should I hurry this up a little?

Best not to procrastinate with FW reservations, especially if you plan on going during peak season.

Good news!!! I got a reservation at the Fort from March 3-10. Oh happy dance.

Yep, they guard the "weekends only" pretty tightly at Ft. Wilderness. They fill up so quickly. A couple of years ago I could get 7 nights from Wed to Wed, but could not get Fri and Sat only. I booked the 7 nights and dropped the extra nights later.

I was actually there all 7 nights, but was able to get Wed - Thurs at a discount and Sun - Wed at a discount. Was trying to get Fri-Sat at rack and was having a hard time doing so. So ended up doing the above.

This October I've got 14 nights in one reservation at AAA rate. I hope I can keep it that way!! It seems every Ft. Wilderness trip I have to have split reservations for one reason or another.
