I tried Search, but no luck.

Yesterday LWTL was going full blast, with its (since Soarin') usually long lines. Today there is a big wall up with one of those signs about working on the future.

Is it gone? Getting rehab?

Whatever it is, I hope it's temporary . . . wonder if it affects Garden Grille at all?

this was added to the Rehab schedule list here on the Dis.

EPCOT

Living with the Land - Boat ride closed from 8/20 thru 9/16, reopening on 9/17

yeah they are talking away the live hosts. it's going to be fully automated when it reopens.

I don't remember where I read it, but they are automating the ride. I think they are going with smaller boats and there will not be a guide on the boat to give the narration and answer questions, everything will be recorded and piped in to each boat as it passes each area like many of the other attractions like this. I am sorry to see it go this way, I liked having a live guide up front who could answer questions and give personal insights into different area's.

Yeah, I agree. Me, too! :thumbsup2

Rumor aloso has it they will be removing the fasspass machines, and adding a couple more boats to speed up the line.

I love this ride. I come from an agricultural family that's farmed for generations. My uncle, father, and grandfather made it a point that we ride this ride. It's very interesting. More people should take advantage of this ride.

Darn I was hoping that it was just a rumor as I never saw it officially added to the wdw website. oh well I guess I'll ride it next time. :(

*whew* We will JUST make it. (I hope that the schedule is maintained, we have plans to be at EPCOT on the 19th. I LOVE The Land ride - and am a bit disasppointed to hear that they are going automated. I loved the personal touch of a guide who interacted and answered questions. This is one of the things my kids are really looking forward to riding, I'm glad it should be re-opened by the time we are there (we have ADR's for Garden Grill on the 19th as well).

I love this ride!!! I like having the tour guides, but I don't remember any of them varying from the script. We always ride it in the morning before the line builds, but it will be nice if they add more boats.

I took my youngest (DD2) on this while DD5 and DW were riding on Soarin', mostly just to keep from being bored. It's pretty much the same ride as it was when Epcot opened, but I'm guessing they've harvested since then. The Mickey pumpkins are also clever... never could find a place that sold the molds.

The first part (going thru the audioanimatronics part) used to be done by a live host at ot one time too. We usually go on Living with the Land more than once on each trip and have found that the tour guides do vary a bit in what they talk about. There are too many things in each greenhouse to talk about every plant that is in there.

This makes me mad too because it wasn't on the website! I had promised my DD we would do the behind the seeds tour this time plus we just like the ride, darn. If it had been on the list we could have adjusted our trip by a day and been able to see it. Does anyone know why they didn't list it? It seems like they list every other little thing.
I'm going to have a dissappointed DD.

we've never been, but put it into our schedule for this year! at least it will be open when we go!!

 What is next?!? Automating the jungle cruise and getting rid of the captains? Just have the corny one-liners piped in? Such a shame to remove the human element. :confused3

We have been to Epcot many times during our trips to WDW and never had we done this ride. This year we got the surprise FP from the Soarin ride. We had time to waste, so we figured it wouldn't hurt to give it a try. We were pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed the greenhouse and seeing all the veggies, etc. I learned what paprika looked like in whole form. Hubby learned new ways to grow veggies, etc. A good ride. :thumbsup2
