What's up with La Cava del Tequila?

I did a quick search and didn't see anything.

What is up with the plastic cups even when are sitting at a table? We were there Saturday and I was like :scared1: when our margaritas were served in plastic cups. Is this something new? Is it going to be permanent? We were there during F&WF and our margaritas were served in glasses.

Also we got the chips and salsa and instead of the chips being served in the cone they were just thrown on the plate. And the service was bad.

So sad about one of my favorite Epcot places. :sad2:

Must have been something unusual. We were there a week or so ago and everything was normal, with real glasses and the chips in a cone.

We were there during F&W and they were plastic on the weekends and glass during the weekdays. They told us it was that way during F&W Fest so maybe they are doing it again on the weekends during the holiday season. It was a real drag getting the tequila flight in little plastic shots, in fact we felt like those shots were smaller than when they were in glass.

Plastic cups (for everything, from margaritas to shots) were being used only on weekends (not weekdays) during the Food and Wine Festival as the crowds were ridiculous, they were going through more glasses than they could wash, and a lot of them were getting broken. As another high-traffic time is approaching, they may be using plastic again in preparation for higher crowds.

I was there the first week of December and everything was served in glasses, even on weekends. Chips and salsa were served in the cone.

It's likely something we'll have to put up with in times when they expect to be crowded, but I do hope the management doesn't ultimately decide to just go all plastic, all the time.

Ok. I get it, but it doesn't make me happy. Yes we were at F&WF during the week (as a local I know NOT to go over the weekend). And I agree, I hope management doesn't go to this all of the time because it does take away from the experience. If I want my margarita in a plastic cup, I'll just get it outside.

Darn, we missed meeting you in person Nala. Were you at DAP?

Yes but it was dark and noisy (what was with the deejay?) and there were a bazillion people there. I met few people other than the folks I came with.

1) I think it is disgraceful to serve drinks in plastic cups.
2) You can pay $8-$50 per drink or shot, and don't get glass.
3) There can be no good or sound reason for such.
