So we picked the week of 12/2 - 12/8 for our visit. We know that between Thanksgiving and xmas has gotten more popular the past few years and isn't deserted like it used to be (we've been in December 6 times). But with Thanksgiving a week earlier this year we thought the Thanksgiving crowd would clear out well before 12/2, and we wouldn't bump into the early xmas crowd by leaving around the 8th. We know that they traditionally tape the xmas parade that weekend (Sat 12/1 this year), and that Mousefest and Pop Warner are going on the week of 12/2 - 12/8. But there are over 10,000 rooms on property and Mousefest and PopWarner don't draw that level of crowds.
So why does it seem like the week of 12/2 - 12/8 is booked solid and excluded from any deals? We got a Disney Visa offer that excluded two weeks from the beginning of October until right before xmas - the week of Tgiving and 12/2-12/8. The deal period included the week after Thanksgiving and the two weeks before xmas - but exlcuded 12/2-12/8 for some reason?!??!
We're not dependent on a deal, but are worried what we're going to run into this week from all of these signs. DW is thinking hard about pushing us back another week to 12/9 - 12/16.
