I know DCL has an age limit, but many local operators do not. They'll even accept infants as long as someone stay on the boat with the baby. It makes sense to me because that way families with young child(ren) can still take turns participating in and enjoying the excursion, as opposed to not able to go at all.

We are thinking of going with Captain Marvin so we can take our 3-1/2 year old DD with us. She's been swimming weekly since 10 months, and she has touched Stingrays before at aquarium.

What do you think? Do you think she's too young to enjoy it? Would you do so? Why and why not? Thanks.

Yep, that's right. We did Capt. Marvin back in Sept. and there were two ladies on the boat with a baby around 9 months old. They took turns holding the baby during the snorkle stops but both got in the water with her at Stingray City. We have a video of the baby laughing and having a ball.

When we went on Captain Marvins in December the other family had two children under three with them. They brought blow up float boats and they floated in them while the others did the rays. It worked great. The guide was wonderful and carried a ray over to the little ones!

It was like a small blow up boat, really cute one for each it had a little blow up umbrella over it and the legs hug down in the water, Maybe a total of two feet long the child sat in the boat part with legs through holes in the water-it looked like a boat.

Thanks!! The boat/float idea sounds great! I was there several years ago. If I recalled correctly, the water wasn't that calm. The waves break not too far from the sand bar. Did I remember wrong? Did you think the water may be a bit rough for floats?

What they did was have one adult stand with the children holding the floats and then switch. I didn't think the water was rough at all at stingray city.. it was a bit choppy at the reef though.
