Kids are getting to the point where it's harder and harder to take them out of school for trips. Waahh! We are thinking our next visit will have to be in the summer so we are planning for June 2016. What is it like at that time of year? We are from TX so used to the hot temps so I know that's part of the deal. Is it horribly crowded then? Parks are open later right?

Feel free to give me any and ALL tips! Thx!

I've always gone in May or November, but this year we're going in June. 10 more days! I'm definitely concerned about the difference in the crowd level. I'll soon find out! (hoping all my planning will ease the stress of having heavy crowds!)

We have always gone in june (both teachers). It is hot...but manageable...TAKE BREAKS!!! It is crowded, but manageable if you follow the simple steps of not going to the parks on magic hour evenings.

Early june is always better than late june. If you go as early as you can, the more manageable the crowds and heat are.

Still, hot and crowded disney is better than no disney.

Glad to hear that because we are also planning a trip for June 2016. We always go in September so the crowds are awesome but it is very hot. I'm not concerned about the heat in June just the crowds. Hopefully it won't be to bad. We are going early June but as others said when the kids get older it's harder to pull them out of school :-(

San Antonio here. Leaving on Thursday for our first ever June trip. Bit worried but frogg togs and afternoon breaks planned. Happy to give you feedback.

Would love to hear that feedback when you return! Fellow Texan here looking at June 2016.

We are going in 9 days so I can let you know what it's like when I return. We went in August 2 yrs ago and it was hot and muggy, but I'm from NC so it's like that all summer long here. LOL! Prior to that we always went in April/May or October when it was "cooler", like 80-85 degrees. Doesn't matter too much to me though, I would rather sweat it out in Disney then not go at all. 8-)

I have been two Junes and going again Saturday and next June. It is very hot but not as humid as July. It is crowded but manageable. This year I have been reading reports it is hotter and more crowded than usual. June also sees more rain.

More crowded and hotter than I expected. // It was less crowded than spring break -- but rope drop and touring plan were a good ideas. Due to the heat, we enjoyed a beach day, some water park time, and quite a bit of pool time. It was hotter than I prefer for theme parks, so our June trip was both my first and last summer trip to Florida. -- Despite the crowds I like spring break for the glorious weather. And if we can do December before Christmas week (last year DS got out of college earlier than most people -- it's not the case this year though) I like that for lower crowds (weather can be hit or miss)

We went late June (on our first trip to WDW) and it was extremely hot and humid! We are from So Cal so hot we can handle, the humidity was horrible! I also remember it not being bad as far as crowds were concerned. We were there last month and it was still not so bad as far as crowds go but more crowded than our June trip!

Yes please!! I am open for any and all tips...lol!

When do your kids go back to school? If you can wait and go at the end of August, the crowds are much, much less! A lot of kids start earlier in August so the later you go, the less crowded. We've been very happy with out 3rd or 4th week trips--hot but manageable.

We would go back 8/24/16. I'm just afraid it would be so much hotter if we waited. Stupid school is making this so much harder...lol!

Late June/Mid August is about the same -once you're around 90 with humidity, it doesn't really matter what the temp is anyway!

I'm not a local so have no idea--is June really cooler than August? My preference for August is at least if it's just as hot, it's a whole lot less crowded! Or least that's my understanding!

We've been in June, July, August AND September and honestly haven't noticed a huge difference between any of the trips. Yes, it will be HOT but manageable with mid-day breaks. If you tour mostly early in the morning and after dinner, and take the afternoon to swim and relax, it can be really enjoyable!

Also, we're in Canada and it's still pretty chilly here... so I'm actually looking forward to the heat when we leave in 2 weeks!

I'm a teacher and only travel to WDW in the summer months. Truly, it isn't bad, as long as you travel smart. Rope drop is essential, as is avoiding the park with EMH. We have also utilized touring plans.
From my experience, it is every bit as hot in June as it is in July and August...when the humidity is that high, it all feels miserably hot. My best tip is to tour aggressively at rope drop, then enjoy indoor attractions, a sit-down meal, or some shopping midday when the heat and crowds both make things difficult.
Don't let crowds and weather hold you back from going to Disney! I would take a busy, hot day at Disney over no Disney at all any day. :)

June or July are the months we most often visit. We'll be there in about 2 weeks and we know it's going to be hot and crowded. But we went in August last year and it seemed even hotter! We went in October and it rained every day! We went at Christmas once and it was freezing and had torrential rains- I don't think there is a perfect time to go!!

Afternoon breaks and not going at breakneck speeds is how we handle it. It's doable, you just have to pace yourself.

I have been here since Saturday and with the exception of MK on saturday, the crowds have been great. It is also nowhere near as hot as it usually is when we come this time of year. There have been afternoon showers a couple of days and two nights with periods of rain, so it has stayed a lot cooler.

Hot, humid and crowded! To this deep south girl, don't see much difference in June, July, August. We've also been to Disney in all those months, but no more.

If I had to take a vacation around school schedule, think I would rather chance the spring break crowds - not near as hot.
