What's the World like in June?

We would go back 8/24/16. I'm just afraid it would be so much hotter if we waited. Stupid school is making this so much harder...lol!
Thats what I say about school too:rotfl:It is making it so there is no good time to go to Disney ! We are going in August, I would so much like to go sometime not in the middle of summer :confused3

We have gone twice the first week of June. Both trips were great! Last year we were there May 31 thru June 8. We really utilized FP+ and never waited more than 15 minutes for anything. We park hopped a lot and went to the MK during the evenings which always seemed less busy than when we were there in the afternoons. We took advantage of the evening EMH at the MK and stayed until 3:00 AM. That was awesome! We went on so many rides. My kids were 7 and 10 and did great. They thought it was so cool to be at the parks that late. I don't really like the heat in June, but the crowds during early June don't bother me at all.

We've been in June, July, August AND September and honestly haven't noticed a huge difference between any of the trips. Yes, it will be HOT but manageable with mid-day breaks. If you tour mostly early in the morning and after dinner, and take the afternoon to swim and relax, it can be really enjoyable!

I agree with autumnpalm. There have been a few July and August vacations where the humidity was just unbearable, extra brutal, or there were fires in Florida and with the humidity it was hard to breathe (asthma), so needed long afternoon rests in the room with ac and fan on high. Hasn't stopped me from going yet! Also a few times I forget simple things that make it better, like bringing our own water bottles and freezing, wipes to freshen up, the fans with water, little personal fans, rain ponchos. We're going in a few weeks and I have to remember to pack these things! The parks are all open late and we love that! Mostly tour after dinner now my dd's are older but get up early a few times to get in a lot of rides.

Man, I hate crowds and I hate the heat, but I also don't want to take my kids out of school. I'm a grumpy curmudgeon and even I can make June work.
FP+ and ponchos. The daily rain can be your friend. Afternoon breaks and at least one sit down meal in the early evening and you'll be fine. Swim, swim, and swim some more to cool off and tour in the morning and evening.
I came from a family that only went during low crowd times. I'm now a parent who happily deals with the summer. Go figure.

Our first family trip was in early June 2012. It was warm, humid, and rained some. However, I'm from Texas too. I don't remember it being terrible. It actually cools down after the rain, and the crowds leave too. The crowds were the lowest we have seen by a little bit, not a lot, but we have only been in early June, late July, and mid-March (non-Easter week). We don't like to take DS out of school, so that's when we can go.

Kids are getting to the point where it's harder and harder to take them out of school for trips. Waahh! We are thinking our next visit will have to be in the summer so we are planning for June 2016. What is it like at that time of year? We are from TX so used to the hot temps so I know that's part of the deal. Is it horribly crowded then? Parks are open later right?

Feel free to give me any and ALL tips! Thx!

I went in June once so I could take my nephews when they were out of school. It was not nearly as hot or crowded as I was expecting. We went the 3rd week of June. It was more crowded than off season sure, but not horribly so. Also, the heat was no worse than I've experienced in September and it was less humid. I'm sure that varies a lot from year to year. I felt like we still got to do everything we wanted.

Yes please!! I am open for any and all tips...lol!

We are in the exact situation you are in, but this year. After 9 years of going after Easter but before the end of school, we were forced to delay our yearly trip until June this year. We'll be there in 4 days. I will most definitely be writing a Trip Report when I get back, so hopefully that will provide some useful info!

Florida resident and AP holder here. We go all the time throughout the year. Mid June-end of August is going to be high 80's to mid 90's for most days. Yes it's going to be humid. Also this is one the premium times of the year for crowds so it will be busy. My best advice is carry water bottles, go at rope drop, take a hotel/pool break around noon for a couple hours, dont fear the rain as it lightens up the lines and the crowds, and finally sun blocker.

I normally go in December but last year (and this year again) I also go in July. There are far more people in the summer than the first few weeks in December but other than the water rides (summer vs. winter) I didn't really notice a huge difference in the lines. They close some of the riides down at each attraction in the off season as there are fewer people, but the lines stay the same.

June is a great time to go. Late hours at the parks are the best. We have gone the past several years during late June due to the school year here in the NE. Mid-day swim breaks are a must and utilizing FP+ helps out too.15 more days to go !!

We are going in a couple of weeks. Actually two weeks from now I'll be making my way around Epcot (yesterday would have been MK).
I've from Iowa so I'm used to ridiculous humidity with heat but for some reason i'm worried I'm going to melt lol

We went last June and it is hot, humid and rains every day. That's why we're going to Disneyland this summer instead...still hot but no humidity and no rain!

Can't help on June, always schedule at the end of summer, gives something to look forward too all summer vacation. Traditionally, the last two weeks before Labor Day worked great because most of the country was back in school and the free dining deals usually start after Labor Day (this year free dining is starting earlier)...plus, you know, some people fear hurricane season. In those weeks, lines were 10 min on average for most rides, especially if following easywdw or touringplans "which parks which days" calenders, but park hours are shorter. But every year seems unique, mileage may vary.

June is hot and the humidity is high, rains some but that never cools it off. Crowds are crowds just so patients and take breaks. I'm a believer of noon time pool and naps, go early get some stuff done, go cool off, come back in the evening. Taking the granddaughter down in June for the first time, usually do the fall, we will see how this works.

LOL.... curmudgeon is such an under utilized word these days! :) We've always gone in the fall (other than our first trip over Spring Break when we didn't know any better!) so I am skeered but a hot day at Disney is better than a hot day at home right? It will be blistering in TX too so might as well be off having fun somewhere!

Thanks everyone for the tips! The spray bottle/fans will be a must have I'm sure!
