we're thinking of popping over for a quickie combination trip in mid-November: London and DLP...
we would spend a few days in london, then take the eurostar train from waterloo to DLP, where we'd spend about 3 days, then return to London for our return flight home....(this idea came about for two reasons: my son is very interested in riding the eurostar and the kids haven't been to London, which I think they'd very much enjoy since there's so much to see there)...

but i was wondering what the weather is like.....
so i guess while i'm at it, if anyone knows what the weather is in London in mid-november, i'd appreciate that information as well as what it's like at DLP in mid-november...

Paris and London weather at that time of year are very similar - between 5 - 10 C on average and fairly wet - but the vast majority of rides at DLP are indoors or covered. On the upside it will be very quiet in the parks in mid-November so there won't be long lines.

that's what i was afraid of....and so much of both london and DLP is based on walking.....we'll probably freeze to death....hmmmm....i'm stupid that i didn't think of the cold before...

I don't know where you're from but hereabouts that wouldn't count as cold!!! :rotfl: Wrap yourselves up warm and you'll be fine.

When we went to DLRP in mid November there was no rain but it was pretty cold, nearer 0 than 5-10 but that could have been a particularly cold year. It's a lottery really - who'd have thought people would be in bikinis (not me!) on the beach this past Saturday yet yesterday, just one day later, there was torrential rain. Thanks to global warming (apparently) our winter's are much warmer than were 10-15 years ago so it's not all bad.

where i live, the coldest it gets in the very dead of winter is 65 degrees fahrenheit...maybe maybe on one really really bad night out of the whole year it might get down to 60....but mostly it's about 70 during the winter (and 95 the rest of the year)....and when the weather drops to 70, we all pull out our winter coats....

right now, i'm sitting here in my tank top and sandals.....and we're in what?...almost november.....you get the idea....5 degrees celsius is very very very very very very very very very very very very cold....very.....very very..

hmmm.....i think i'll have to scrap the idea of london/DLP....so maybe it will just have to be one more spin around WDW.....
or maybe i'll check on the weather in tokyo.....that could be fun...i've always wanted to take the kids there.......
too bad though....i really wanted to do the London/DLP trip....it would have been so much fun....certainly the london part of it...so many great museums.....

70 F is a reasonably warm summer's day here in UK!!! Go on, dare yourself - it'll certainly be different to WDW!!! Last December when we were there Lake Disney was frozen. It can be so beautiful

Try a new experience and enjoy Disney with a thick coat, hat, scarf, gloves and lots of hot chocolate!!!

those pictures are GORGEOUS!!!!...
what a winter wonderland....
and i could definitely go for the hot chocolate...

Yes, they are beautiful but in fairness I should point out (especially to our American friend) that it may look nothing like that - it might just be grey and wet - but I prefer to think it'll be white and beautiful!!!

Voice of doom here Beth, sorry ;)

The Met Office are forecasting a particularly cold winter this year. This is even more significant becuase the last few (six or more I think it may be) winters have been unseasonably warm - so a cold winter is going to feel comparitively even worse to us UKers in comparison !!

Hehe, don't drop that skill of putting a happy Disney spin on things, we may be needing it a few weeks down the line in the Lose 1 Stone for Christmas challenge! ;)

And yay, I hope it will be all snowy and icicley and pretty. :flower: I don't mind the cold as you can just wrap up in millions of layers, and huddle up like penguins, which I love doing. :grouphug: Besides, a lot of the park is indoors!

the only time we were at DLP was about 5 years ago or so....it was october i think....the week before that (when we did the tourist thing in Paris) it was unseasonably warm, but the day we headed for DLP it was cold and rainy...
so we just HAD to buy DLP coats for ourselves.....it was nice to have an excuse....

NOV 2004 DLP SANTA FE
NOV 2005 DLP NEWPORT BAY CLUB

Hi everyone,
Well, just reading all of these posts, I have to admit I am a tiny bit nervous about the weather when we get to DLP!!! :guilty:
We come from the Sunshine State of Australia, and the coldest it gets to hear is about 6. [That being said, the hottest is over 40C, so I guess we will be welcoming the cold!]
We are a little worried travelling to Europe in the winter, but we have ski jackets and thermals and hats and gloves and scarves - we should be ok, shouldn't we?
It is very hard to picture that sort of winter, in Aus at the moment we are getting VERY hot days as we head towards summer, so please reassure me that we aren't going to turn to ice when we get to Europe! :cold:
Is it worthwhile bringing an umbrella? :umbrella: I never thought about the rain over there - here, our rain season is very much in summer, so I didn't really think I would need any wet weather protection - what does everyone think?
Thanks guys!!!
