I would like to know if I am just cheap not thinking we can stay in anything other than the Values ($121 p.n). Is there a way to stay at the Moderates with out selling your soul to Disney? Or is the upper priced resorts that much better that one would pay $200 plus a night. Help me open my wallet says my wife. She loves the Wilderness Lodge.

We got into the Port Orleans Riverside on their $85 pn deal. Just click the link on their front page.

When are you going? Disney can have some pretty good rates if you choose the right time of year to go and you take advantage of special rate codes from Mousesavers. For example, you can get into a Moderate resort this winter for $85 a night--less than the price you quoted for a Value resort!

the thing is to get in on the specials. sometimes the discount codes don't come out far in advance. so if you are planning next year's trip, the discount prices are not out yet. but definitely check out the discounts.

if you go ahead and pay for your deposit now, and then you see that a discount code that applies to you has come out, then call disney and see if you can apply that code to your reservation. you can even give them a list. if it applies, then they will modify your reservation and discount your daily rate for you.

here is a page from wdwinfo that you can keep handy. mark it in your favorites and check back to it periodically to see if anything has come out for you. http://www.wdwinfo.com/discounts/discounts-current.htm

here is a page from mousesavers that may be of help as well:

good luck!

To be honest, that is a pretty busy week. I think it's considered peak season. BUt you still might be able to get certain discounts. Keep your eye on the website www.mousesavers.com and if you see a good code come out, call immediately and try have it applied to your dates.

Is there any other time of year you can go? Summer tends to be cheaper than school vacations.

I just checked on www.mousesavers.com :

Here are the various seasons :

Value Season: January 1 - February 16, August 28 - October 4, November 27 - December 19
Regular Season: April 17 - August 27, October 5 - November 26
Peak Season: February 17 - April 16
Holiday Season: December 20 - 31

Unfortunately, your week falls during peak season and lower rates are much harder to find then.

I was there this last Feb, the last week through the first week of Marhc, but I was staying in a condo off site. I did not notice that the crowds were too bad, but it is, historically, the start of school vacations.

Even though that is peak season, you will still be able to get discount codes for that time. Last year, I got CBR for an AP rate of $116 pn including taxes. Depending on how long you go, it could be very advantageous to get an AP for at least one person in your party just to get the discount. You will not need an AP to book the room, you just need it for check in.
Other public codes will come out for that time too and seem to be about $10 pn more. Just keep an eagle eye on these boards for when the codes get released and be ready to pounce. I checked my reservation for 2/27/04 - 3/5/04 and I booked it on 1/2/04 which was most likely the day the codes were released.
We can... Nay, we WILL get you into the moderate that you want!

Shop around - check these boards, mousesavers, etc etc. You can get good rates for the moderates. You could get as little as $79 or $89 I think.

My advice is don't stay at a value...
