Tonight my mom brought DD8 to walmart for her birthday present. We do this every birthday of the girls, out to eat, then to the toy aisle.
Anyway- We're in the check out line- the quick express thing, theres a guy near the cigarrette display- and he grabs a pack then says to me, "can I go ahead of you, this is all I have". He was an older man, probably in his late 60's early 70's, and I replied, sure thing go ahead.
"however, I dont think your suppose to grab cig's for yourself, so if your gonna cause a ruckus- go behind me..." this was said laughing. The cashier heard me and started laughing. He turns shows me his walmart badge, says "oh no ma'am, no ruckus from me"
He pays for his cigs, I ring out our stuff, she hits the total button, and the man appears again. hands the cashier a "credit card", the cashier swipes it, and hands it back to him. I look dumbfounded, not sure what to say. She hits total again. It was his walmart employee discount card. 10% off, my mom saved $13.00 from this guy.
I turned around, and said - omg thank you very much, that was very kind of you. He turns to my daughters and said "see, it goes full circle" and walked away. We had a discussion on the way home about WHY the guy did this for us. My girls were totally blown away that someone would do that. Of course, it wasnt money out of his pocket, but he certainly DID NOT have to do that for us!
