What's the oldest MacLaren stroller still in use?

I was wondering how long the MacLarens last - I hear a lot about the 08 and 07 models.

My question is: who has the oldest MacLaren and are you happy with it still?

I bought a Maclaren Triumph at Target for my then 4 year old son in early 2005 and we still use it at all theme parks now that he is 7 and a half. He now weights 55 pounds and is 50 inches tall now, was 44 pounds and 44 inches when we bought it.

It is still totally functional, a bit dirty, but it has held up through at least 12 trips to Disney a year since we go once a month and several trips to Sea World.

I have a 2004 Twin Traveller thats had 4 week long Disney trips, 20 plus flights, and lots of daily use! Its still holding up like a champ. I only regret I didnt choose a darker fabric color for staining (it was light light blue seats, poor planning on my part!). Great stroller.... worth every penny and more!

I have a twin traveller that's a 2004 I got it from craigslist last year for $30 steel of a deal if you ask me we used it last year for vacation, summer vacation to the dells, and i'm debating over if i want to use it this spring or buy a single and make my 6 y/o walk... it does have a few cracks in the canope but they still work great.

I've got a Volo bought in August 2005 that's currently on its 7th Disney trip (albeit without me!). It's still holding up great.

My sister had some problem with the wheels of hers (which is maybe as much as a year older - I think one wheel wore through or something), and MacLaren sent her a whole new set of wheels free of charge.

I don't remember the model names on either of these, but...

my single is a 2000, purchased for my DD's first trip to WDW. It's still in great shape and is sitting in my garage waiting to be handed down to someone who needs it.

I still occasionally use my 1997 double that I bought for my boys who were born 15 months apart. It has been to WDW six times and to DL twice. It's also in great shape. I pull it out and use it every now and then when I'm babysitting my cousin's kids.

So, yes, they last a looong time.

I bought a Maclaren for my 3rd child after going through about 10 strollers on my older 2 girls. I am not lying, about 10. I babysit so those kids would use our stuff in addition to my own girls. Most strollers would last about a year with regular use but they were shot and I always needed a backup. Once I got the Maclaren, I got rid of everything else and it is still holding strong. It has been on 3 Disney trips through the airport and all. Also, several other vacations and my daughter is now 4. The older girls have also used it. Worth every penny. I wish I would have known when I had my first child.

I purchased a Maclaren "sport/sprinter" stroller last night. It was $10 with local pick up. I haven't gotten it yet but plan to get it tomorrow. It is unclear how old it is. The ad also displayed the original instruction booklet that indicated it was distributed through Kidco Inc. I've read they later decided distribute their own products so I figure it might be from late 90's sometime???

I have a 5 yr old at 50 lbs to take next month and wanted something better than the Graco I have that does not maneuver well with her size now. I didn't want to invest much as she is at the upper end of the weight range. I was thrilled to find an option at this price but wondered really how long they last - thanks! I can't wait to pick it up and check it out! Now I could get an organizer for it and not feel bad about spending a bit more.

I've got a 11 year old one in my garage-- A triumph? I can't remember. We used it for both kids- had the wheels replaced 2 or 3 times but it's still in good condition. My sister uses it when she comes to visit with my nephew.

I went to get my stroller and the seller felt bad when she cleaned it and found there was a tear in the foam (?) of one handle and the shade was broken so it would not attach. She decided to give it to me for free and gave me back the money. Woo hoo!! It will still work for the late evenings in the park which was our original reason for a stroller. I might check into what we could do for a replacement shade but I am sure happy! :woohoo:

We used that stroller a -lot- and the wheels wore down. They weren't worn through, but the rolling resistance was increasing substantially. The wheels aren't field-replaceable on that stroller, so we had to mail it in. I think that they emailed a mailing label, so that they paid postage. It was $20 or $30 and they refurbished the frame as well, lubricated and adjusted the joints and such. I seem to recall that it took about 2 weeks to mail it to them, have them repair it and mail it back.

Well, somebody got my twin Triumph (I think...) free last night! It was freezing cold and windy and the darn thing has NEVER been easy to collapse. I must have spent 20 minutes in the cold night trying to close it and get it in my SUV. Finally I was just disgusted with it and pushed it over to the grassy area outside of Nordstroms and left it there. Good riddance! I can't imagine someone with two young kids should be expected to wrangle with their stroller - - that one has ALWAYS frustrated me. I know everyone else LOVES theirs, but mine was a total PITA.

Wow I find the MacLarens so easy to fold up. Just push the little lever on the side with your foot and push up in the center with your foot.
