Whats the NICEST thing that has happened to you at WDW???

I have had some pretty magical things happen to me in Disney World. :D

I think my personal favorite was when I was 7 years old. This was back when the characters would just walk around. No CM with them. People would attack them. It really got insane.

Well Mickey was getting pretty beat up. (People were actually trying to take off his head!). Mickey was in some SERIOUS trouble, he was down on the ground & people we kicking him. It was awful for all the kids around to see. I was of course very upset. My Mom jumped in (Mom is a little woman of under 5.5 feet tall, so I was impressed!), and helped get Mickey away from the crowd & to a CM around the corner.

My Mom was asked for her name & some info (would she be coming back tomorrow, etc) so Disney could send her a thank you.

The next day when we got to the Magic Kingdom a cast member (same one my Mom took Mickey to) pulled us aside when we got through the gate. She brought us to where Snow White was waiting *just for me*. She was our personal guide for the morning. Ok, our personal guide only took us up Main Street and to the Castle, but boy was I excited!

Later that night for the parade we were given special seating, when the floats went by the characters would stop their little speechs & ask me "Did you have a good day today Lynn?". Talk about making a 7 year old feel like a princess!

At the end of the parade my Mom told the CM who was with us in the seating area how thankful she was for what they did for me. The CM told her "Oh no Ma'am. We need to thank you. Mickey told us everything that happened. We are so appreciative to you."

It happened more years ago then I like to count, but I remember it like it was yesterday. I felt just like a Disney Princess for a day. princess:

I'm another one of those people that was proposed too at DW. Hubby proposed on our last night at Pleasure Island during the fireworks. I ended up with the souveneir of a lifetime!

There are lots of nice things that CMs do, but one that was just awesome for us was another family. My son, age 11, who has Down Syndrome, was playing in the arcade at ASM all week during our Nov 2004 trip. On our last day, he had about 250 tickets. Now, remember he doesn't have a clue why a 1500 ticket toy should cost any more than a 2 ticket plastic trinket. Anyway, he'd spotted something for 300 tickets (yes, it was junk, but he WANTED it). I was trying to explain that he didn't have enough tickets, and maybe we could come by in the morning before we left. He wasn't happy and kept pulling me back to the counter. Well, there was a couple with their teenage son at the ticket counting machine. Apparently the boy had been saving tickets for a LONG time - they had several bags of them. They overheard us, and just GAVE Connor a bag of tickets. It was just a small number of their total tickets, but to Connor it was the world. There were about 350 tickets in the bag - so now he had enough to get the toy plus some candy. He was on cloud nine. There are still great people out there!

Disney is so nice on special occassion on our honeymoon the gave us a card congratulating us and they knew we did not drink so sent two bottle of sparking water. We still have them 7 years later. On my birthday Donalld Duck saw me sitting along the parade route and had me join the parade when it stopped to dance with him. This was my 40th so I am no kid but Disney knows when we go we are all kids at heart. When I got back the hotel left ballons and a card signed by Minnie and Mickey how special. And if you have a birthday always where the button all the cast members wish you happy birthday. I love Disney so much because it is one part of my life that no matter how old I get i still remember the child I was.

One thing that stands out for me happened when my son was about 8.We had been collecting autographs of all the characters over the years and could never find Donald. We were sent on a few wild "donald" chases but always came up short. My son suffers from asthma and he had been having a bad day at MGM and we decided to head back to the resort for some airconditoning. As we were getting near the front entrance my son let out a scream and went running towards the side entrance of the reception center and right there in front of him was Donald!!!!Well I never saw my son so happy in all my life, and donald was just hugging him and playing with him for about 5 mins before anyone else even noticed he was there. We got most of it on video and then Donald posed for pictures and signed my sons book.It is definitely one of our best moments.

This happened to us during MNSSHP this past year.
It was our first MNSSHP and probably our last. It had been a very long day
as I'm sure you've all had. We (myself, wife, son 8, and daughter 4) were there with a group of family members. It was the first Friday of October and man was it crowded. At the end of the night, we were all starting to get a little testy with each other (I hate doing big group things). My daughter and my sister were waiting in line to ride Dumbo. They were in line about 20-25 minutes and my daughter spotted Cinderella. Cinderella is her favorite of all the Princesses and she just had to see her. Well, the line was very long and some of the people in our group were ready to leave. My DD REALLY wanted to meet her. We told her (not happily) that we just weren't going to have the time. Boy she started sobbing, big tears and everything. Out of nowhere a very nice CM asked her if she wanted a piece of candy, DD replied "No, I just want to see Cinderella (big tears rolling down her face). The CM picked her up and took her straight to Cinderella. It was the best part of our night.
She was smiling ear to ear and then my wife starting tearing up.
Sorry to anybody that had been in line, but if it weren't for that CM you would have heard a very cranky 4 year old all throughout the park.

I think anyone upset at that misses part of the fun - seeing others joy! I know that's a big part of the magic for us, so much so that my DD8 sometimes "overdoes" helping the small kids do the fun things she enjoyed at their age. The real charm of WDW, IMO, is seeing so many other families smiling as well.

It was our first trip to WDW, and we were in Epcot World showcase on the last day of our trip. My DH went to buy us all some lunch from a fish & chip cart in England, but came back to tell us he didn't have enough dollars left and they didn't accept credit cards. A complete stranger came up and said he had over heard and offered to buy us lunch, we couldn't believe what a kind offer that was :D

Our son also had a wonderful birthday when he was 10, we were at DQ and a CM got everyone in line to sing Happy Birthday to him, then let him have a special level 5 ride, in the build your own coaster simulator :cool1:

On our last trip, my son really wanted to ride RNR. I couldn't figure out the FastPass and was getting really frustrated. No line for the FP, I was just cranky and obviously having trouble with a SIMPLE machine. A CM came up and showed me how to use it, then she pulled two out of her pocket for right then. Made my son's day. Don't you love the magic!

When my kids and I were waiting in line for drinks at AK.. they saw those more expensive drink glasses with the toppers... They of course begged for them and I said that they were too expensive surprisingly the kids said ok and stood quietly. After we bought our drinks the Cm handed them out in the special cups.
She said it was for the kids good behavior and listening to thier mom.. whatsmore they had "refill" coupons on the sides of them!

We still love to drink out of them!

bumping this up because it just gets me in the mood for our trip in less than 2
weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i was with my family january 8-15...
my uncle came in the middle of the week to surprise us so we all went to pleasure island the first night he was there--we went to comedy warehouse--my mom wanted to sit in the back so she wasnt a part of the show--of course, the phone next to her rang and our whole family was a part of a song and dance about people in new jersey--it was great!

we went to see a taping of who wants to be a millioniare, and ended up being in mgm past 8:00...we had checked to see if we would have transportation back to our resort so we could catch a bus to DTD...we were told no problem...after the taping, there were maybe 2 buses--just to the ticket//transportation center--we asked a bus driver (everyone else was in lines thinking their bus was coming) how we could get to DTD, and she only had like 5 people on the bus..she said after she took them to the ticket center, she would just take us to DTD...she didnt have to do that and it was sooo great! my mom offered to tip her and she said no way, it would take the magic out of it!

Last spring break we went to MGM for the first time. Having read how Fantastic Fantasmic is, I went ahead and got the dinner package at Hollywood and Vine. The place was packed and noisy and yet, our server did the sweetest thing. When taking our drink order he went over the whole list of beverages for my kids, including pink lemonade. Well, one of the kids, just to be funny, said "I want blue lemonade!" That's just what he brought us. Four glasses of blue lemonade! I have pictures of all of them grinning with their blue tongues and lips.

Seeing as there are 28 pgs...I haven't read them all...but I have to give a big "THANK YOU" to all those who stayed at ASM on my very 1st WDW trip!! My van was parked in the parking lot for a minimum of 12 hrs, with my van sliding door OPEN!! Now...while no one closed it for us... they also did NOT take anything! Our VCR, TV, Movies, Suitcases etc were still there, nothing touched at all! That made for a magical vacation when I realized all Disney lovers are good people :earboy2:

Well, everything about our honeymoon this past Sept/Oct was magical but one thing stands out....we were in MGM and decided that we would inquire about the Fantasmic Dinner Package, so we went to Guest Relations. We met the most amazing CM Gisella who asked us if we were planning to be in the park at 3:30pm for the parade. We said yes (note: I was wearing my Minnie bridal ears and DH had his top hat on so it was obvious we were celebrating our honeymoon)....she asked us if we would be the Grand Marshalls in the parade....both DH and I were speechless.....she also said she would give us VIP passes to Fantasmic.....again we were speechless......the parade was awesome....we had so much fun....Gisella took great pictures for us and once we were done we were able to stay at the end of the route and watch the parade come by and got great pics with the characters. After the parade ended, we were escorted by Gisella to a VIP area that was air conditioned (it was about 90 degrees that day). She gave us a soda and then had a bag of treats for us, including a frame, pictures signed by the characters, the signs from the side of the car we rode in that had our name on it as the Grand Marshalls and our tickets to Fantasmic. She was soooo sweet and really made our day....it was a day to remember :)

A nice thing that happened to me at WDW happened in september 2002. I worked in a day care at the time and I wanted to bringthe kids back something cheap. We were in the candy shop on Main street and I seen the mickey straws. I askedthe CM behind the counter if I could buy 16 of them off of her. She came back out with 16 for me, 8 for my sis, and 16 for our friend (we all worked in child care) and one each for three of our friends boys. We asked how much they would be and she said don't worry about it! It was great, and we even went to Customer Service and let them know how helpful and nice the cm was!

Last time we went to Disney we ate at Tony's at MK on our last day there. My meal was mixed up and I didn't receive it until everyone else was done eating. But from being a waitress before myself I know that things happen and I didn't say anything about it. My family and I also don't make a big deal about things going wrong because we just enjoy the time we get to spend together. But out of nowhere the manager came out and told me our waitress told him our order came out wrong and he apologized a hundred times and gave us two front of the line tickets for any ride in MK. I thought it was very nice that he cared that much about his customers.

Oh another thing I remembered is we stayed at the Poly and my brother left $250 in the room and was so upset the whole ride home. A few weeks later he received the $250 and a nice letter from the staff saying he was just trying to leave the money so we would have to come back! I can't believe that someone would go through the trouble of finding out the address and writing the letter instead of just pocketing the money. I love Disney and everyone that works there are fabulous people who instead of just doing the minimum to do their jobs go far beyond what anyone expects them to do.

Another memorable CM was a bus driver one rainy night at the end of the day at the MK. As you can imagine, the bus was filled with tired parents and crying kids. Our bus driver began singing the "wheels on the bus" song. And when he got to the fathers on the bus, the father's were singing "Get me off, get me off." He had everyone laughing and singing to the point that the people at the first stop said they did not want to get off.

The CM's truly know how to make our trips magical.

Disney Dave -- I swear my hubby and I had that same bus driver in 2000 during our first trip together. Was it an older man? Whenever we're starting to get tired and cranky in the car, he'll start singing that and the two of us will have a good chuckle and relax.

At the Flying Fish at the Boardwalk, I was obsessed with cooking at the time, so I'm sitting there watching the chef. So he let me go back there and cook with him! I loved it!
